A 22 game sample over 5 years is basically irrelevant.  Today is a more or less a coin flip game and the Brewers are favorites tomorrow (-142).  For the series:

Brewers win:

0: 22%

1: 49%

2: 29%

Holy cow.

I love watching Brice Turang play defense.  So glad he’s been allowed to battle through his hitting issues.

I would love for Hiura to come up and tear it up for a month

It would certainly make for a fun story

I wonder if anyone one this BF website would suggest he should have been up earlier

Cardinals being this horrible still seems unbelievable. I can't understand how that roster can be so bad. The manager has to walk the plank I'm sure.

In retrospect that was kind of a strange move by Balldelli taking out Ober?

With 35ish games left in the season, and Ober already at a career high in IP, I can see inning management as a thing.

108 IP in 2021

73 in 2022

131 in 2023 coming into tonight.

Unreal how lucky we have been in this inning

Reminiscent of the Dodgers big inning last Tuesday.

When you have a four run lead I’m all in favor of 100 MPH fastballs right down the middle.

I'll say low tonight with how Megill has been pitching.

Megill has been quite good lately

Prefer him over Mejia & others who have shuffled back & forth to Nashville

Molina apparently was a big deal … glad he retired

It would not surprise me to find out that any of...

a. Molina had a huge impact on getting the most out of pitchers

b. Molina had a huge impact on getting the most out of fellow position players

c. Molina accessed supernatural devil magic.

Not sure if you guys saw this but apparently the Brewers were at least somewhat close to making a big splash at the deadline

Most of the players named I am not sure the Mets would have had much interest in them.  Nimmo is playing great in CF so cross off Frelick.  They have Baty at 3B in the minors again so unless they thought Black was a 2B that crosses Black off the list.  They have a young catcher in Alvarez on their MLB roster now so Quero makes no sense here either.  That leaves Misiorowski as the only prospect that would be of interest to the Mets not named Chourio as a headliner.

If the Mets saw Misiorowski as a starting pitcher I don't see how they pass on him as the headliner for an Alonso trade.  I am going to assume they don't see him as a starter and more as a reliever.

I just don't think the Brewers prospects lined up all that well with the Mets.  It is probably why the deal didn't go all that far.  The Brewers didn't have what the Mets wanted in return for Alonso.
