"Rock, sometime, when the team is up against it, and the breaks are beating the boys, tell 'em to go out there with all they got and win just one for the Uecker. I don't know where I'll be then, Rock but I'll know about it; and I'll be happy."

He was past his prime, but watching this guy play for the Brewers, even if it was for only one season, was pretty cool.

Those late 90s early 00s Brewer teams were something else. Marquis Grissom was terrible for the Brewers (.687 OPS); they swap him for Devon White and Grissom immediately becomes a .746 OPS CFer for the rest of his career (584 games). White has close to a career year  for the Brewers then retired.

I don't think I get the obscurity thing. This number is always Gumby.....

Particularly when the guy in question retired MORE THAN 30 years ago...I am not an old man, yet I barely remember Gumby as a Brewer.

Oh I love me some Gumby. He was the quintessential 2B during my formative years as a Brewer fan.

I just dig random Brewers as well.

I enjoy the obscure players to go along with the stars, but I do appreciate an ID when using the obscure ones.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

The 1992 Brewers were full of quality veteran bats like Yount, Molitor, Gumby, Hamilton, Surhoff, Scotty Fletcher and Kevin Seitzer, but this young nondescript prospect came out of nowhere to take over for an injured Bill Spiers at SS, and proceeded to hit .290 and steal 54 bags on his way to Rookie of the Year honors. 12-year-old me loved me some Pat Listach.
