There's obviously Curt Hogg but who are the Brewers journalists, influencers, or creators you follow and respect?

We're building a journalism list for a book we're building over the next couple of months. Any help you can provide with names is greatly appreciated.

Who is the lead over at Brew Crew Ball? Anybody know?

  1. Curt Hogg: Journal-Sentinel
  2. Ryan Topp: MKE Tailgate Podcast
  3. Adam McCalvey: MLB

Is there even such a thing as an "influencer" that's respectable?

I don't mean to brag, but my followers number in the 80s now!

It's both of my parents, but still...

"Rock, sometime, when the team is up against it, and the breaks are beating the boys, tell 'em to go out there with all they got and win just one for the Uecker. I don't know where I'll be then, Rock but I'll know about it; and I'll be happy."

Jack Stern is BCN, I think with David Gasper

Could do current host of locked on Brewers (though that's changed annually of late) along with perhaps announcers like Vinny rotino and the Dom Cotroneo who both started on the podcast

The barrel mke podcast

Also there's a ukbrewcrew page on twitter that has a decent ISH following, would probably be a good target

I don't see why people close to the team couldn't be targets. I would presume that Dim Tillard would be ideal -- but I'd doubt the team would let him contribute.

This isn't meant as a blanket endorsement of Dillard's work/Twitter or whatever, I often find him inane, and harmless. But I still would rather listen to ANY Brewers "personality" yammer compared to the Twins' patented "broadcasts of boredom". My gosh do Twins broadcasts make my ears bleed.

Having a Brewers employee contribute would certainly be beneficial to the site, even if they're not directly relating to fans. But again, I'm guessing any sort of content from Brewers employees is contracted to go through the team site.

Yeah, I threw that in there just in case it spurred an idea in someone’s head of a person they follow on YouTube or TikTok or something.

But in general, I find “influencers” to be rather useless.

Oh, this is for sending to people, not contributions. We actually almost got Dillard to write here last year. Talked to him once about it.

But we’ll be sending the product to some Brewers employees for sure.

He’s the Mets beat writer or one of them as I’m sure they have multiple, but that Salmon guy has a lot of knowledge about the brewers and their front office as he wrote about them for like 5 years with the athletic. I really don’t know how I can’t think of his first name.

I think you mean Will Sammon.  😉

David Gasper is editor in chief of Reviewing the Brew, not BCB.

People (most of whom are probably not deeply into baseball) say they follow me on social media for the Brewers - but I don't know that I'm the kind of contact you are asking about.

Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.

Thanks for reminding me of Will Sammon.  I went to cancel my subscription after it ended and there was no more Will, but they lured me back with an insanely cheap offer.  But their Brewers content is pretty worthless anymore without a beat writer.  If I don't find time for Packers and Badgers content there, it'll be the end of it for me.

Brewers and relish tray news.
