I thought I saw his name on the roster!  That was not be the first time I've been wrong (maybe the 2d or 3d).

And remembered by me for payroll inequity failure of the MLB -- hence Counsell and Stearns going to the Mets!

Not disagreeing or being disagreeable. Just a note to say the top three payrolls in MLB are not going to the playoffs.

I know we're going to have some empty seats tonight but this crowd at Tropicana Field is really small for a playoff game. Maybe we shouldn't be doing playoff games on a weekday afternoon while school is in session?

Sweet!  The odds are definitely with higher payroll teams over the long haul and we all know it, too, though.  Wouldn't it be nice to retain Corbin Burnes?

I like how the lineup graphic has arrows from Contreras' name to his picture, as if those who follow the Brewers on Twitter had no idea who that dude was.

Kinda crazy tidbit:

This will be Corbin Burnes 2nd postseason start of his career. Freddy Peralta also has only ever started one postseason game...despite both being on the team since the 2018 postseason.

Combined they have only half the amount of postseason starts that Wade Miley has had for the Brewers.

Winker over Rowdy is a brain buster.

I'm too occupied with other stuff (or too lazy😄) to do the research, but I heard someone say something today about Winkers' career numbers being pretty good vs Kelly & Gallen. If accurate that explains it, as well as Tellez just not getting anything going for quite some time now.

Well, his face is half blacked out. If we polled the general Brewers fan population to guess who that was at quick glance...I bet many would pick Adames. I also could see some incorrect Tyrone Taylor guesses.

Just watching TB-Tex is getting me anxious, and I couldn’t care less about the outcome.  All playoff sports are intense, but there’s something about the slower, but unrelenting agony of baseball that affects me differently.  That, and watching Glasnow pitch well but get no run support and see his defense commit three errors and another couple makeable plays failed behind him is a brutal watch.

I’m hoping this is not a preview of Burnes’ fate tonight!

Here is our team against Gallen: Zac Gallen Batter vs. Pitching Stats - ESPN

Against Kelly: Merrill Kelly Batter vs. Pitching Stats - ESPN

Only Santana has at bats against Pfaadt.

Here are the Dbacks against Burnes: Corbin Burnes Batter vs. Pitching Stats - ESPN

Peralta: Freddy Peralta Batter vs. Pitching Stats - ESPN

Miley: Wade Miley Batter vs. Pitching Stats - ESPN

Just go to the "bat vs pitch" tab for all of these.

Arizona hasn't been scoring a lot of runs recently. I expect them to lean heavily on the things they've been able to do this year--stealing bases & taking the extra bag. Yelich has to be able to answer the challenge in LF as I'm sure he'll be targeted. Keeping the leadoff man off base to begin innings is always important; even more so vs this team. Wouldn't be surprised if they do a lot of stuff to try to get the INF moving, especially the corners.

In addition to my well-documented inability to keep up generally, I follow the Team mostly on radio. So I'd be unable to ID many Brewers by sight. 😕

And Vegas has the Brewers favored by 1. 5 runs or -175 on a straight bet, so America has the Brewers as the slight favorite.

Arizona is really struggling.  Lost four straight to end the year, six of their last ten.  Plus their run differential on the year is negative 15.  The Brewers should be decisive favorites, but three game series are so random.

Royce Lewis hasn't played in 2 weeks and is 2/2 with 2 HR today. So maybe the Brewers are on to something...

If only we could body-swap Lewis and Winker… 🫠

So we haven’t been an ESPN household for many years, but have watched regular season games on Fox Sports/Bally Sports Wisconsin.  Now I’m up against it for this week, since it’s all ESPN2.  I’m doing a free trial for Hulu and ESPN+, but I’m not seeing if that covers me or if I need a different package.  Any knowledgeable posters out there who can offer any guidance for navigating the labyrinth that is modern sports streaming?  It would be much appreciated!

You won't be able to get anything on ABC/ESPN/ESPN2 with JUST the ESPN+ prescription.  You need to have a tv subscription for those channels (or do the sketchy pirated freebie websites).  As others said, youtubeTV and FuboTV both have free previews for a certain amount of time.  And Sling is the cheapest option but not quite as quality of an experience as those.  OR upgrade your Hulu subscription to Hulu+live tv.  Good luck.

You can sign up for a free 5-day trial on every plan without any obligations.

The Entertainment package has over 75 live TV channels including ACCN, ESPN, ESPN2, A&E, BET, Bravo, C-SPAN, CNN, CNBC, FOX News, History and HGTV.
