IIRC, Alando Tucker's attempted mutiny helped contribute to Gard's perception years go.

To me...this is something that happens with pretty much every very good program that doesn't win it all.

Badgers, every coach since Barry has gotten a lot of...crap and some of them were very successful. People are already SOMEHOW complaining about Fickel...which blows my mind.

But go through Wisconsin sports.

Bucks-Win a title, people still want Bud fired.
Badgers-already mentioned
Brewers-Counsell was widly blamed for leaving Hader in when it was "obvious he didn't have it," vs the Nats and that was right after the '18 run. Or the Freddy Freeeman HR. Or even when he left and a lot of fans tried to justify it by saying they were better off anyway.
MLF- He's in a slightly different place as is just about every Packer(sans Barry) after the '23 season with some grace, but plenty of people wanted him gone after Tampa, then SF, still questions about his ability to hire coordinators...but with that 2nd half, he'll enjoy half a season of people supporting him...and that'll stop unless they win the SB next year.

Sometimes it's justified. Sometimes I think it's just fans with unrealistic expectations. Winning a title in pretty much every sports requires luck and everything to go right. For Wisconsin, it requires even more than luck.

As for Tucker, all I'll say is the blue font you used didn't need to be blue.

Failed mutinys have a way of being explained away as, "just kidding".

They'd have a good chance at stealing this if the shots were at all falling today. 3 for 20 on 3's against Purdue is not going to cut the mustard.

Most of those looks were wide open too which makes even more frustrating

Wonder what their 3 point percent has been since the second half of Nebraska.

That would require me to do math which is not pretty but I bet its pretty low

Courtney Green is nearing the top of the worst officials in college basketball.

Top 5 in my book. F.ing terrible.

Badgers didn’t lose today because of the officials but yes there were some terrible calls that all went against us. The Blackwell shoulder bump call was a clear make up from one they missed earlier. Crowl getting whistled for standing ground against Edey when Edey was clearing space with the shoulder. They whistled play to stop when Smith went down with ankle but not when Chucky was down, all stick out the most to me

Agreed... Not the reason for the loss but man they sucked.

Agree. I have my kids baseball practice during the hockey game today so you will probably need to pick me up and carry the fan load and bring home the W

I was curious so looked at it. It appears since Nebraska they are shooting 30.1% from 3 as a team, 69/229. They are shooting 34.4% on the year. It’s been a problem

And it was mentioned early in the game that UWs' 3pt defense is ranked 340th. That's out of 351 D-1 schools. They have given up some open looks this season, as everyone does. But that screams reversion to the mean to me. Hopefully the basketball gods owe them some misses.

Do you know what percent teams are hitting against us?

Started the game out exactly the way you don't want to when on the road, with the misses from beyond the arc & letting their guards get much too comfortable. Credit to the team for putting together a real nice 2nd half. But it obviously felt like an uphill run the entire way. It's like Purdue had 5 or 6 "three point cards" they could play whenever they wanted and pulled one out whenever it would hurt most. I thought the epitome was when we were trying to get the ball back w/a chance to make it a one- possession game & Caleb Furst, who was 2-10 from deep on the season & hadn't made one since November 13th hits nothing but net. Typical.

Kinda hard to criticize Crowl too much due to the physical mismatch, but obviously you can't afford to have him disappear offensively like he did, Edey notwithstanding.

Storr had a lot of offensive freedom but didn't really put up an inordinate # of bad shots IMO. He was the only guy in the first 12 minutes that played like the moment wasn't too big for him & was capable of hunting shots.

I wouldn't lobby for this too hard because what they're doing right now is working for him, but if you choose to start your best five it certainly includes Blackwell.

If I'm Gard, I'd have a hard time not getting thrown out after Hepburn was lying on the floor & the game wasn't stopped. Not just a tech. Thrown out. The officiating probably didn't cost them the game, but it would've sent a hell of a message coming from someone as mild-mannered as him, and might've even created a shoulder chip heading into the post season.

Here's hoping for a nice UW contingent with the B10 tourney right next door.

Just under 37% for the season, 43% in the last three games. I was incorrect in that apparently there are 362 D-1 schools, not 351.

The 340th ranking is accurate.
