Bleacher Report proposes trade of Sheehan, Busch, Rushing, Hurt+ for Burnes and Adames. Deal.

Instead of signing IKF to replace Adames, I'd probably turn around and trade Devin to Baltimore for Joey Ortiz+.

I’m no expert in trade values but that seems like a pretty good deal for the Brewers. They get a combination of nice infield and pitching prospects, which is exactly what they need.

I think the Dodgers have lost out on Cease and will now be turning their attention to Burnes and Adames.  If the Orioles get Cease that Dodgers Braves bidding war for Burnes should be fun.  I just don't believe the Braves will go over the first cap for Glasnow and I am not sure if they will be interested in Bieber over Burnes.  Whoever loses out on Burnes probably goes with Bieber over Glasnow unless the Rays are willing to eat a portion of Glasnow's salary.  Maybe the Rangers will go after Glasnow but that is a big gamble when they already have DeGrom who is recovering from TJ surgery.

I just don’t see Friedman giving up the prospect package required to acquire both Burnes-Adames. Not for just 1 year of each. He’s a prospect hoarder with the best of em.

Adames to Dodgers? Dodgers Could Be Looking To Upgrade At Shortstop

Ardaya mentions Brewers shortstop Willy Adames, who the Dodgers were interested in last offseason, as a potential trade candidate. Indeed, the 28-year-old would certainly be an upgrade…However, after Adames, it’s hard to identify other shortstops who would count as an upgrade.”

I hate to admit it, but an Adames trade now is probably safer than hoping he does enough from April-July 2024 to retain solid value before the trade deadline. Turang would presumably shift to SS and we’d need to add 2 major infield bats.

Sounds like Burnes and Adames will be in Milwaukee come OD 2024.

That would be a huge mistake. The question Matt Arnold has to ask, can we win a World Series in 2024 with Burnes and Adames? If the answer is no, then the organization needs to load up on as many prospects as possible to add to our existing young core. That seems to be the best path towards a World Series as opposed to getting nothing for either player after the 2024 season.

Mark A’s World Series is finishing ahead of the Cubs in 2024, thus Burnes can’t be traded so that we can finish above Counsell’s new team.

Rosenthal kicks off his morning article with this.

Regardless of whether they sign Shohei Ohtani, the Los Angeles Dodgers can entertain a multitude of trade options, including a long-speculated deal for right-hander Corbin Burnes and/or Willy Adames.

Burnes obviously would help fill the void in the Dodgers’ rotation, and Adames would give them a defensive upgrade at shortstop over Gavin Lux. A native of Kenosha, Wi., Lux could even go back to the Brewers in the trade and become the team’s second baseman, with Brice Turang moving to short.

Just no on Lux being in any deal for Burnes or Adames.

I wouldn't mind him coming back, as long as he wasn't considered the major component of the deal. Considering his major injury concerns and the fact that he hasn't exactly lived up to the immense promise he had as a prospect, I can't imagine he would be.

For me Lux would have to be the 4th piece in the deal.  If the Brewers still had Toro I would have included Toro in the deal for Lux.  That is basically the value I see of Lux he is worth a Toro and no more.

Sheehan Frasso and two 9-18 type prospects along with Lux for Burnes and Adames would be fine.   Get two big time arms first though for sure but three years control of Lux could pay off again in a couple years if the guy can just stay healthy.

i want Turang at SS this year as an aside.   I don’t believe the bat plays at 2b so it’s either SS or Counsell-as-a-player type utility role for Turang going forward in my opinion

Is it possible Mark Attanasio is okay with just being competitive this year, keeping these two and offering them the QO and taking the comp picks at the end of the year?

FIFY with the answer being yes very possible.

Agreed. I get the feeling Mark A is in no hurry to hit the reset button yet, even though it’s fast approaching in 2025.
