Saw a Mariner fan on Twitter had been mulling dealing SP for OF with the brewers and these were the names that were brought up.  I checked the baseball trade values site to see if the value lined up in their opinion and low and behold it does.

id love to add Woo and pencil him into the middle of our rotation and Hancock is a good 4/5 prospect as well.  Personally, I’d pull the trigger if offered assuming the Chourio deal goes thru.   Start Yelich/chourio/Frelick with Taylor and Perkins in reserve and wait for the next OF prospects to emerge.   That’s a solid OF crew for opening day right there (some see Blacks best position as OF as well).   Also, sort of gives us an ability to trade Burnes for the best player package overall  and not necessarily the best pitching prospect package.  Anyway, I like it but I’m interested in what do you think?

Personally, I’d rather trade Frelick than Mitchell. Mitchell has done nothing but hit when healthy. He’s more consistent than Frelick so far too.
I might be in the minority there. But I think we get a .290’s hitter that won’t into extended slumps with Mitchell. And to me, that’s exactly what this team needs. He was the spark on this team before he got hurt. The idea that they left him off the playoff roster for Winker is something that still makes me shake my head.

Agreed... Chourio in CF and Mitchell/Wiemer platoon in RF would be so damn good!

I would love love love that trade, and I agree strongly with your point about a Burnes trade. I think that has been my hesitation with trading Burnes is due to the lack of depth in our MLB/AAA stable of pitchers, the team would not only lose their ace, but pitchers 2-5 all get bumped up a spot, and suddenly the team is trotting out Junk every five days. Woo has already had success in MLB, and to get near-ready Hancock as well would go a LONG way to stabalizing the starting pitching in the post-Burnes/Woodruff era

I've also always preferred Frelick's floor to Mitchell's ceiling.

I get that but its exactly the injuries that concern me. If we get a guy who can't give more than 350 ABs in a given season we end up losing. The sky-high K numbers also concern me. Not saying we should definitively trade him and keep Frelick. Its just a risk

I like the OF for pitcher idea however probably 1 for 1 the Ms have Julio and Kelenic so I doubt they want 2 OF. I would try and get Bryce Miller or Logan Gilbert instead and throw in a prospect like Logan Henderson if need be.

Mitchell/Wiemer and Logan Henderson isn't getting Bryce Miller or Logan Gilbert.

The key is getting Woo and let Ms. pick whichever of those three they like most and make it work.

Absolutely.

The M’s likely won’t entertain trading both of Woo/Hancock, so one of our OF’s for Woo makes the most sense, which is the trade proposal mentioned by Spencer in his blueprint.

This would allow for a Burnes trade that doesn’t necessarily have to have a big-league starter returned in the deal.

Because he hurt his shoulder once, doesn’t make him injury prone. Plus, he came back earlier than expected.
Honestly, I’d rather see a Mitchell, Chourio, Frelick OF with Yeli at 1B/OF/DH, depending on the matchup.

Mitchell totaled 64 G | 268 PA in 2021, followed that up with 96 G | 357 PA in 2022 and 27 G | 108 PA in 2023.

He’s missed major time all three of his professional seasons due to injury.
