Difference is I think Frelick can actually hit in the bigs and I'm very much skeptical of the other two.

Still a lot of time, but I think the team might eventually be best served by just riding with a Yelich-Chourio-Frelick OF.

Frelick has done nothing but hit at every level. The Brewers will do all they can to get him in the lineup but need to navigate the OF logjam. He put up pretty decent MLB numbers last year in 223 plate appearances despite the thumb injury. His issue is just the lack of power. IMHO he would be a perfect fit numbers wise at 2b.

Mitchell to me is still very much an enigma. Big year this year for him. Needs to stay healthy and show some power.

Weimer IMO got a long look in the bigs last year and was awful. I would expect him to spend some serious time in AAA. If he plays well, he probably gets one more big league shot at some point before he gets the Hiura AAAA label.

I think we're close to our first Chourio homer of the spring. He just barreled his last flyball and went deep to right the one before. Just getting a little too much air on them right now.

Love the opposite field oriented approach. And the lightning quick bat speed.

One thing I'd specifically note is the max, moreso than the average throw. Machado specifically is known to be a minimum effort guy, he's not going to throw harder than he needs to. The max obviously tells you his throwing ceiling. Going down the list, a lot of guys in the next 10-15 under him have a higher max than him. All that said, I generally agree with the sentiment that arm strength is overrated at 3b. How many more plays is Machado going to make than Madrigal solely due to arm strength? 5 a season? It's not nothing, but hard to imagine it's a significant problem. It's probably a bigger number as you approach Elly De La Cruz territory...but that's a different argument.

Savant's arm strength metric isn't raw average. It's average of the top 5% of your throws. If it was just raw average then I wouldn't pay much attention to it for the reasons you said.

Hiura himself got three years worth of shots. And Weimer can actually play defense. He's got a LONG way to go before being labelled a AAAA player. Even if he never solves the swing-and-miss issues, his power and high-end defensive ability will earn him shots throughout his career.

Actually, what is best for the team is to not have Yelich in the OF much at all.  If it truly is about winning, and our outfielders are as good as we hope, Yelich shouldn't be out their with his average fielding.

Yelich will play almost every day somewhere and it will be mostly in the outfield.
Sanchez will get dh time…..so will Contreras…..and when one of them aren’t doing it then Yelich likely will.

Yelich isn’t as good in the outfield as the young guys but is a far better hitter and he isn’t a liability in the field.

Wiemer may need some time to get used to the new swing. Eric Brown Jr. struggled for several months after major swing adjustments.

I really think it’s okay if Joey loses half the year in AAA and the Development List, if that’s what it takes to figure it out. I’m still convinced that he has all 3 options remaining after being optioned for less than 20 days last year.

The broadcast games are available on MLB.TV. It works great when you want to follow a team that doesn't claim your zip code. Just another option to get instead of Extra Innings.

How much does it cost?

Ashby struggles continue……some bad luck there and then a bomb……he is going to have to prove it to make the team…….id start him in the minors.
