I'll take his career #'s.

Good grief, lighten up.

Several posters simultaneously make offhanded comments about Hopkins hitting into another DP, and of course you choose to jump on mine.

Alright, so I'm in western Illinois and without TV access probably forever (if anyone has any hints or tips on how to get that--Bally Sports Plus only gives me access to the Cards for some inane reason--fire away) and following on Gameday.

There's this new feature where you can watch the players name cards move. It's pretty cool. Kind of a neat way to watch the game, even though I'd rather have Levering and streaming video.

Apologies if this has been brought up in another game thread. Just watching and feeling nostalgic for the 8-bit graphing calculator baseball game we used to mess around with in calc.

I'm not "jumping" on anyone. Just making some offhand comments myself that he does hit quite a few HRs while hitting into DPs.

Maybe it's not me who needs to lighten up.

I think his point is the "I'll take his career #s" comment implied that somehow he wouldn't and was making an argument that they'll continue at this rate. Obviously historical numbers will be more instructive, it's simply an observation that he's hit into a number of DPs already.

I thought the Brewers were going to have SP issues this year, but good golly the Mets SP wasn’t hot and now Paddack with nearly 50 pitches through 2 innings, Varland played in traffic all day yesterday and lasted 4 innings, I’m starting to think Milwaukee just might be okay in the SP department

My only suggestion is to get out of Western Illinois ASAP.

(well, get MLB.tv...that should work, same price and you get every other game too)

Ha. I wish. We're blackout territory for the Cards, Cubs, White Sox, and Brewers, for no reason I can fathom.

I was simply reacting to the fact that in 4 games plus one inning, Hoskins has hit into 3 DPs, two with the bases loaded and one with runners on first and third. All frustrating rally killers.

I also recognize that he drove in 4 runs on Saturday and will likely not be hitting into 3 DPs for every HR.

Obviously too early to draw conclusions about anything, but being OK relative to the Mets is not a lofty goal. They could be really awful, like they were last year.

Well then. Get out of Western Illinois ASAP.
