High-A Wisconsin is tied 1-1 in their home series against Peoria. 22-year old RHP Edwin Jimenez gets today’s start, hoping to earn a promotion after throwing 102 innings for the Timber Rattlers last year.

The AAA Sounds need a win today to salvage a 3-3 home series with St. Paul. Today, we get our first look at 25-year old RHP Chad Patrick, acquired for Abraham Toro in the offseason.

We have ourselves some starter arms now in our system, like more than just a few.

Gasser-CRod-Misiorowski-Woessner-Blalock-Henderson Birchard-Knoth just to name 8. Of course there’s more, but there’s a pretty nice future rotation out of that group.

Woessner definitely built off his impressive big league camp. Sucks that Biloxi didn't use a CF camera so we didn't get much of a view to watch. 6 IP, 2 H, 0 ER, 0 BB, 8 SO. We had noted last year that Woessner while inconsistent had games where he was just dominant. Reminded me of Woodruff and Burnes on the mound. Excited to see if he can keep the velo up this year and stay consistent.

This just in:

There's a lil bit of talent on that Mudcats roster. OF Yophery Rodriguez 3-for-4 as he notches 2 dubs. Baez w a triple. Nicasia went yard. Mudcats lead 10-2 as they near a three game sweep at Salem. I'll have to check in on 1B Tayden Hall who appears to have left the game after one AB. Noticeably absent after yesterday's inside heater to the hand area is C Satchell Norman.

Nashville leads 8-1 late as their lockdown bullpen continues dominancing. Very impressive group - I've been saying it all week but it is worth mentioning again.

Also, Wiemer HR number 1! You love to see it! Keep grinding young fella.

My goodness:

Josh Timmerman with a nice outing.

I was at the T-Rats game today.  Cold and windy, but got the W.

There must have been like 200 people there today.  One of the least attended games I've ever been to.  At least the rain held off until minutes after it ended.

And Durow gets the save that didn’t look like it would be necessary. So is it shaping up to be 5 tandems with something like Corniel/Mogollon and Rodriguez/Letson as the others?

That Weimer swing looks 100% better, good to see some success. With everyone playing well on the big league roster we really don't need him unless there is an injury.

My thought was Burnes...but that was off like...2 games and I didn't know how big of a leap it was.

Also, in one game he was throwing ~94, and then he was up to the upper 90s. And then there was just inconsistent movement. He had some changeups that had late movement, but it looked like most didn't do a whole lot other than keep lower-level hitters off balance.

Slider could also be really nice at times.

I thought he had top the upside to be maybe a good #2, maybe a #3, but thought I may have been overly optimistic. Good to see others who've watched him more are seeing it.

Yeah he’s been in my Top 30 for over half a year now which is probably bold for a guy who had average looking numbers in A+ last season. He’s just flashed really good stuff at times and I love his size/build. I also had him pegged as a guy with more untapped potential compared to most players his age because he played 4 years of JuCo which gave him a bit of a boost as well.

Any details about his velocity from this game?

I don’t know about for the whole game but if I recall correctly his final pitch of the game was a backdoor two seamer that was 94mph if I remember correctly.

Whoa... if that's accurate... well, I think we can start penciling him into our MLB starting pitching depth THIS year.
