Hall hasnt been good, but he should have had 3 or 4 strikeouts not called today. Coupled with terrible defense that inning, you get a bad start.

Yeah he got squeezed on a few of those (pitches called balls below)

Might be a perfect time to pull Hall NOW.

I understand that suggestion but we are killing the bullpen here in April

I wish Tobias Myers was still on the roster

Today would have been an ideal time to piggyback him with Hall

I hadn't read anything about Hall's velocity but I guess the brass thinks it will come around:

There are plenty of pitchers who can have successful careers as MLB relievers, who simply cannot and will not ever be an effective MLB starting pitcher.

I'm not saying Hall is for sure one of those, but it's certainly within the realm of possibility that he can't be "fixed" to be a starter and at some point we'll have to embrace what he can do rather than changing it.

Seems like only yesterday that some of us were adamant that Josh Hader belonged in the rotation because we didn't want to lose out on the next Chris Sale. The best thing we ever did for him or us is to just let him be Josh Hader and not try to turn him into Chris Sale.

I believe Hall is better suited for Nashville than the big league bullpen - at least for the time being

His control is not good & his velocity is down

I’d like to see him get on track in AAA rather than pitch poorly in Milwaukee

Good point.

The tricky part with Hall is that his bullpen potential is good but probably not Hader level. Even if Hall becomes a very good bullpen piece (a la Peguero), he's likely got more value as a solid number 4 starter.

This is really the question for me. Is it worth trying to turn Hall into Colin Rae when you know you could turn him into Peguero? I'd say yes.

I also remember Burnes struggling mightily when we first tried him as a starter. Then, he and the pitching lab worked some serious magic.

well he's not gonna hack it as a starter then in the low 90s.  So many starters can do the upper 90s now and MKE has been a spot in the last few years to figure out ways to get an extra 2-3 MPH out of someone rather than the other way around like has happened with him.

Good bounce back from the O, remember the bases loaded and Contreras out at the wall, this could have been a big number for them today

They have to teach him how to be more consistent in changing speeds and hitting his spots. I saw him pitch in Arizona and it was the same thing first inning was mostly 93mph swifties were very hittable, then he started landing breaking balls in the zone and changing speeds and he actually pitcherd quite well.

Yeah, free agency year. He will go 90R 25HR 90 RBI, hit .280 and get a 140 million dollar guarantee somewhere else over the off season.

I do like that Arenado forced his way out of Colorado because they didn’t win. Then he comes to St. Louis, where they had some regular season success initially but are now seemingly an also ran team due to a lack  of quality pitching
