Obviously couldn't catch a break to save our lives in the 6th. But the big thing is how poorly we responded. What gets me is not only no interference, but even if you're 6'8" you can do that 100 times & never come close to getting a piece of the ball when sliding.

Uribe threw a pretty good 3-2 to Rizzo, not a strike but could easily get a swing. Not today. Then he got squeezed a couple other times. Then we just let the whole thing get in our heads.

They need Hall and Junis healthy. At the very least, that eats innings. Williams return will help too, but that's still two months away.

You just need guys like Ashby and Gasser to contribute. Koenig has. Myers has. I am thrilled to be 17-10 after this schedule.

Hall eats what 3 per start? Myers has been better than him.

Well, like he said we need him healthy. Pretty sure 3IP isn't his ceiling.

Well last time we saw him good he was in a bullpen. There is no documentation of him being an effective mlb starter. There is more chance that Ashby could be that than Hall right now. That's all I'm saying.

Fair enough. I think Hall has a much, much better chance of helping us as a starter this year than Ashby. Ashby is a mess right now, a much bigger one than what I've seen from Hall.

I believe in Hall. Others may not. That's cool.

Even as a bullpen piece, though, Hall adds multi-inning depth. We need that.

We've also played like 80% of our games against teams over .500. This has been a hard April, and we've weathered it well. I have to think we'll cool off on the road and start playing better at home. This next schedule stretch isn't quite so bad. It's baseball, so you never know, but there's definitely a chance to go 15-10 over these next 25. 30-20 through 50 would be an excellent start.

Ask yourself this... If 6'7" Yankee Baseball Superstar, Aaron Judge, slides feet-first every time (which he probably should, outside of game-winning plays at the plate), why does he need a sliding mitt at all? I guess because it's perfectly legal for someone to block throws with their hands. The Crew should have ALL of their players sport mitts on BOTH hands in DP situations.

Not sure if its just me but Chourio looks either exhausted or depressed.

I think being 20 years old not speaking much English in a new town and also learning baseball is probably a lot. I'm guessing he might be both.

To block throws, I guess. I don't know if he ever goes in headfirst. It's one of those things where if you're Judge you do it until you can't.

Shoulda called it. They didn't.

I was mainly referring to the rotten luck element of it. You can TRY to do that, and very seldom get a piece of the ball.

Probably over 1/2 the team speaks Spanish so that I don't think that is it.  I think it has to do with the way he is struggling. Probably never struggled at baseball in his life before.

Yeah. Bad call. Really bad. Those happen.  But that craphouse ump did not walk the next 19 batters.  Just a pathetic showing by the team. No excuses.

I respectfully disagree. When you have a protective mitt on, and have Aaron Judge's hand-eye coordination, I'd be surprised if he couldn't block 50% of Wily Adam's throws from 10 feet away.

Probably to dive back into first base

I don't know what the list is of teams that have given up 15+ runs in back to back games, but it can't be a very long list.

Little Sisters of the Poor need a pitcher today.

I used to could throw a decent knuckleball and screwball in the New Orleans lawyers' overhand slow-pitch softball league (c. 1990-something 😕 ).
