I wonder if maybe we're getting to the point where the pitchers peripherals love are also going to be the ones more likely to get hurt...

I have always liked Rea. The Kyle Hendricks, really solid number 3 starter kind of guys always seem undervalued.

Ha! If you ask a lot of Cubs fans, Hendricks is prime Greg Maddux

Should be fresh, think he threw more punches than pitches last night.

I feel like putting him in right would be poking the bear unnecessarily.

He did have some good swing and miss with those punches too.

Willy off balance out on his front foot, and hits a pitch that was probably off the plate down and away out to dead center.  Just watching the swing and the pitch location, I thought that was a shallow fly ball to center off the bat.  I can see why the pitcher looked shocked that it was out.

Saw Chafin is pitching well this year so far. Does not compute. ;)

Saw that too. He gave up a run in the Detroit loss to cardinals, but overall not too bad this year.

Willy going full 3rd base Ryan Braun today.  Make an error hit a homer.  I like it.

Remember what Yoda said:

Sizzling Hawt Take:

Being up 7-0 feels much better than trailing 15-3.

(Don't @ Me. Actually, you can't @ Me regardless. Or, wait...)

Is Schroeder right about that? It's not when the ball hits the glove but when it enters the glove?

Yes

Bauers has a 4 BB / 26 K ratio. I doubt we’ll see him make many more starts.

Maybe Ortiz or Turang should get some OF innings.

Learn something new every day. But doesn't the first-base umpire watch the base and listen for the ball in the glove? What's the technique there?

Forget the suspension. Uribe currently doesn't belong on a major league roster right now. He has so much potential but has all the control of Ricky Vaughn.

Whatever it takes to get him right. He'll be an important piece to our success in September and hopefully October.
