It would appear they aquired White to cover Payamps' spot until he can return. Doubtful White's time in Milwaukee will be long.

White was a decent prospect for the Dodgers, hasn't worked out anywhere now 29 and likely running out of chances. He would be a good guy to go overseas and come back better. He throws 94 with a 5 pitch mix. My guess is that he really needs to edit his repiotore. There is probably a Bryce Wilson type Longman in there somewhere but I doubt we keep him long enough to see what our staff can make him into.

White has some beefy numbers, that's for sure.

Looks like Mitch's best stretch was 2021-22 with the Dodgers...

106 IP | 96 K%+ | 97 BB%+ | 91 HR9+ | 92 ERA- | 94 FIP-

Essentially a little better than average at everything except striking guys out where he was slightly below average.

His batted ball profile over that stretch was right down the middle at 100 LD%+ | 100 GB%+ | 99 FB%+.

That's a pretty decent middle reliever if the Brewers can coax him back to that form.

I agree, unless he can go 2 or 3 innings with a big zero runs allowed, I think he be gone also.

Any details regarding Payamps “bereavement” leave? I assume a family death. That should only be a few days - right?

Bauers was off the team for 3 days when he was on the Bereavement List earlier this year so yeah I imagine somewhere in the 3-5 days range.
