Freddy is a good, fairly reliable #3 starter

He’s had a couple of great games, several okay games, & a few disappointing games

He is who he is - not an ace

His offer was for 3/16.5 million and the open market gave him 5/40+

It's fine if you think the Cubs are stupid for that deal ~ time will tell ~ but... there is zero doubt Mark misjudged what CC was going to get on the open market.

No he didn’t…….he decided to make him an offer he deemed appropriate……nobody would ever decide to pay a friggin manager anything he wanted.

He didn’t go into it thinking…..” I can’t lose Craig Counsel and must pay him more then anyone else will even think about offering…….that’s negotiating against yourself…..which is idiotic “

The Cubs paid him wayyyy…..more than any other manager…….so if you want to view that as he misjudged the market that’s fine…….my view is when 1 team decides to go that far out of the norm they are making a desperate offer……and I wouldn’t have matched it even if given the opportunity.

The cool thing is that there should be more of the same for the offense tomorrow.

but it's not like every guy suddenly forgot every piece of advice he gave

That's now 0 runs, 12 hits and 35 Ks in 32.1 IP against Cubs starters. How can that even happen?

Cubs have a great pitching staff?

C'mon guys, Freddy just pitched 5 2/3 innings of one run baseball.  He added 11 Ks to that effort.  Yes, he struggled in the 6th, but the damage was minimal and they never scored.

Being way too hard on the guy.  I get it, we expect more from our "ace," but Freddy just isn't a true ace.  Just because he is supposed to be our best starting pitcher doesn't mean he is an ace.

Fact is, our offense is inept.  This disgusting showing has nothing to do with Peralta.  We are being no hit in the 7th inning after all...

It's embarrassing how our crowd acts when a fly ball is hit to the outfield.  Even short range flyballs have the crowd acting like it is a home run every time a fly ball is hit.  I used to make fun of Cubs fans for doing the exact same thing, now we do it too.

😥😥🤢

It’s like that all over. So, it shouldn’t be embarrassing.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

Brewers gotta get this guy into the stretch. A walk would be great.

Got two of those in the 5th, but unfortunately, we couldn't cash in.

Offense, I don't use bold often, but score some friggin' runs. At least get a hit!

And Craig, take your pitcher out. You're burning him out (please work).

Granted but a starters ERA of 3.73 against non-Brewers and 0.00 vs Brewers still is hard to fathom.

Ben Brown is throwing a no-hitter.

Let's see if it works!
