This could be a long series.

Yeah, I have a bad feeling about this series, especially with C-Rod going tomorrow. But I've been wrong often.

The wide strikes I saw in the first inning didn't look horrible, but that pitch first pitch to Black was super low and given Black's understanding of the zone it looked like that threw him off the entire AB and left him swinging at garbage.

CC had Frelick hitting cleanup as a rookie and now he is in the 5th hole. Some say lineup spots mean nothing. I do not agree. Especially for our 2024 lineup with high OBP guys at #1-3, our 4 and 5 guys have huge opportunities. Like others have said, hitting Ortiz #2 and sliding lineup down a bit makes sense…still can go LRLR at top.

Hawk-Eye camera technology to call strikes in baseball, has been used in minor leagues since 2019. The ABS calls strikes based on where the ball crosses the midpoint of the plate, which is 8.5 inches from the front and back. The system also generates a strike zone, which is 53.5% of batter height.

Same.

Now Colin's gotten a couple of those bad calls for strikes.

Umps must need to warm up also.

They need to just make the zone the same size no matter how tall the batter.
