Junis and Sanchez only got $10M combined, Flaherty came in at $14M.

The Brewers also likely would have had to go over $14M to win the bidding considering Flaherty is trying to rebuild value for a multi year deal and he has a career .853 OPS allowed at AmFam (5th worst among all ballparks where has more than one start).

Flaherty also signed in December, while Junis and Sanchez didn't sign until February.

So money was off, stadium wasn't a likely preferred destination for Jack and the timing was wrong.

Because 60% of the initial rotation is in the IL and Carlos has an ERA over 7.

It was either Keuchel, Chad Patrick, Junk or Ashby (8.30 ERA in Nashville)
