According to Mark Feinsand's latest MLB.com report, the Blue Jays are telling teams they are willing to trade any players on expiring contracts, though they are not yet willing to part with players with team control beyond 2024.

The Blue Jays have a slew of players who will be free agents at the end of the season: center fielder Kevin Kiermaier, DH Justin Turner, relievers Trevor Richards & Yimi Garcia, and most interestingly to the Brewers, Yusei Kikuchi.

Kikuchi is having a solid season with 101.1 innings pitched, a 101 ERA+, and is making only $10 million this season. Relievers Richards and Garcia might also be of interest to the Brewers depending on the healthy return of Devin Williams in the next couple of weeks.

It would be great to add Kikuchi and a reliever.

I probably wouldn't give up any top prospects but maybe 2 top 20ish prospects and a 3rd piece. Brett Wichrowski, Jadher Arienamo/Juan Baez, and Mark Manfredi for Kichuchi and Yimi Garcia

UGH!  That's a lot of fire power for rentals...

Forget Garcia. Yoho-Williams-Koenig & Misiorowski in September will be plenty of firepower for the pen.

Brewers acquire Kikuchi for:

Blalock or Manfredi & Areinamo.

Brewers need a LH starter, Kikuchi has probably the most upside.

This is what I’m thinking essentially.   I really want Kikuchi but only at a couple 10-25 prospect type price.   Add Bassitt along with Kikuchi and we can get a name from the tier above for Toronto .

I have been on the Kikuchi bandwagon for awhile now I guess you could call me the founding father?

But seriously I think something like Blalock and one more piece would work for Kikuchi.  I would think something like Brown and another minor piece would work.  I am not sure the Brewers see Brown as a top prospect anymore as I believe Bitonti, Boeve and Pratt have all passed him by in the pecking order.

If there is a prospect that is ranked in the 10-15 range in the Brewers system that gets traded I think it will be Brown.

I like Yoho as much as the next guy but to expect him to get to the bigs this year is to much. He has 14 AA innings and not to many guys go from A+ to the bigs the year after being an 8th round pick. Don't forget all the DL pitchers coming back who will need a 40 man spot. I just doubt Yoho adds to that.

He should definitely be an option if they need him. His stuff should play anywhere.

I don't disagree just that there are 25 pitchers on the 40 man (3 on 60 likely to come of soon). Add in Misi maybe Patrick at some point and a pitcher in a trade and Yoho gets pushed way back. I don't have a problem with Yoho getting a shot this year, I just can't see our org making it work with how deep pitching is.

There are a handful of arms on the 40 man that should be expendable once the Brewers deem Yoho or Misi ready to contribute at the MLB level...including guys who have been mlb bullpen mainstays until struggling.

Depth is always a good thing, to me it makes sense for the brewers to actually try and package some of those mid tier relievers via trade for lotto ticket prospects to make 40 mam roster room for more talented arms earning their mlb shot

No on Areinamo.  Nope.

Hard to view Brown as high as he was when he just can't stay healthy.  Other teams see that too, so I don't know what kind of value he will have on the trade market.  I'm all for trading him though if it lands us a pitcher!

Brown is 28th or 29th now, on the Crews top 30 prospect rankings. Probably doesn't have much trade value at this point.

Ya never know. He was drafted as a college player. If he keeps pitching like he has been, it might just happen.

I just saw this list like 2 days ago. Can't remember which one. I'll see if I can find it again.

With how bad he's been, I just don't understand why MLB Pipeline still has him ranked 10th. Lol

Because they haven't done their midseason update yet. The only changes have been inserting prospects when someone graduated (and when Barrios was traded) and to move Pratt up because they re-did their Top 100 list last week.

Over his last 28 days he's slashing .284/.372/.328; just needs the power and extra base hits to come around.

Kikuchi just had a fantastic start (13 ks).   Let’s go get this guy and maybe pay him as our free agent spend in the off season.

Jays will have suitors so Boeve and the lessened Wiemer may be what’s needed .  Thoughts ?

With Toronto seeming to part ways with Kiermier (name prob butchered) this week, I wonder if Perkins might be enough to get us the rental of Kikuchi.   Is that close at all given their need in center and given the control they’d have with Perkins in future years?  Or what would we have to add for Kikuchi?

Id like to trade for him with the idea of resigning him in the off season.   Should be able to make him a competitive offer if he likes it here.

My thoughts, are Kikuchi is a 33 yr old starter, that will become a FA at years end. That's way too much to give in return for him. Boeve is at least.

I like a Kikuchi deal for reasons stated above. Possible exchanges could be Blalock, Wichrowski, Patrick or even Frelick. Pretty much a one for one deal.
