From the transactions page. No tweet to bid Dallas goodbye.

The guy cost us $1 and kept us in all the games he pitched. Not much else to ask for. Enjoy retirement.

Ross, Hall and Williams will all be back soon so this opens a spot for them.

I’m kinda disappointed.  He didn’t pitch terribly, but not especially good, either.  I thought he was worth keeping around until the trade deadline, at least.

oh well.

Gasser lost his number to Kuhnel which is interesting. Dallas was a decent stop gap but you need better if you have playoff aspirations. He kept us in the. 4 games he pitched and bought time to get some guys back. Cheers to him

I'm ok with this.  We pretty much got what we wanted out of him, but yesterday's start showed why we can't stick with him long.  5th spots next start would be July 24th so plenty of time for them to trade for someone or stick hall back in.

Remember what Yoda said:

Hall should be back by then

I think the spot is Ross’s to lose. I think hall may be a better pen option for 2024.

No doubt. Hall will be back from the IL first though, I think. Ross is aiming for an Aug 2-ish return. Once Ross is back, I 100% agree on moving Hall to the pen

Yeah, my guess is that by the time they will need his spot after the All-Star break at least one of Ross or Hall will be ready to rejoin the team.

That, or they expect to commence a trade during the All-Star break.

Forgive me if I’m mistaken. Ross was throwing a pen session yesterday. I thought he was closer than hall? I thought hall had a setback

Don’t think you are mistaken.

Ross went 2.2 IP (34 pitches) with Wisco on 0706 then 3.2 IP (46 pitches) with Nashville on 0710.

Think he’d be ready for that 0724 start.

Hall’s last appearance was 0709 and he took a liner of the forearm, which I believe they said would shut him down at least ten days.

Checking Hall’s game log looks more to me like they were setting him up to be a multi inning reliever upon his return. That or he just couldn’t get past three innings.

Saw a tweet the other day that said Ross would be back for the Aug 2-4 series, but that may not be accurate.

Hall was basically ready to return but idk what his timeline is after getting hit by that comebacker

Ten days would put him at 7/19.  The Brewers don't need a 5th starter until 7/24, so they could see how long Hall can go on 7/19 or 7/20 and then have him piggy-back with Wilson or Junis on 7/24 if Ross isn't ready by 7/24.  Next time they will need a 5th starter isn't until 7/30.

Yes kept us in most of the starts  but they need a legit starter for the second half

He kept them in the middle 2 games. His first and last games he was staked to multi-run leads early and couldn’t hold them for more than 12 outs.

Keuchel was worth a shot because they were desperate for arms but he pretty much pitched exactly like a guy who has been washed for years.

He was more of an opener than a starter - as others have said hopefully some of the other injured Brewer arms are back right after the break....along with bringing in at least one more quality veteran starter via signing or trade that can actually be counted on to routinely get through 6+IP every time he's on the mound
