What an awful trade deadline for the brewers.

From the looks of it we could have got Josh Bell for a song.

A guy with a whip of 1.55 and we can barely get a base runner through four innings

Just a bad game.  Clearly a championship level offense in place.

His slash line is .286/.375/.429. I think he’s shown signs of life the whole time he’s been back.

Not really. 6 of the 16 hits he’s had since his return have come in the last 4 games.

After Friday his slash line was.222/.327/.356. He has few enough ABs that his stats can fluctuate pretty wildly with a couple of good games.

All right, let's see what this ready for prime time offense does with a pitcher with an ERA over 6.

Not much.  Not much is the answer.

Too many of our young guys insist on setting up with the bat almost vertical and then have to generate angular motion to get the bat to the proper launch point.

Been watching Turang do it now as well and Ortiz is definitely doing it.

Way too much wasted bat movement.

Reminds me of the problems Wiemer had last year to a lesser degree.

Been trying to dig up video from earlier in the year and turang has definitely changed his setup and his hand positioning and bat angle during the pitch.

Early in the season he had a relatively quiet hand positioning with a 30° angle or so of the bat behind his shoulders and he was able to get a better look at pitches.

Now he's standing the bat straight up samurai style just like Ortiz then having to reposition.

Not sure how hitting coaches with access to video for every pitch can't pick up on the stuff.

7 game lead but yeah I don't like just writing off a game 😒

Two teams within six after tonight.  Both those teams made an effort to improve today.

Bryan De La Cruz and Jalen Beeks are an effort to improve as much as Frankie Montas is.

Why trade Junis to keep Ross & Wilson?

Because Junis hasn't thrown more than 44 pitches in an outing since coming back off of the IL.  Obviously the Brewers don't believe that his "balky" shoulder could hold up for more than that.

Hoskins just not seeing the ball well tonight.  Three meatballs right in the heart of the plate - one of those should have been deposited in the Brewers bullpen.

DLC is better than the Taylor/Placios combo that he will most likley take at bats from so yes, they got better.  Montas improves nothing on this team.

Watch how much bat re positioning happens during the pitch with Ortiz. Along with the front leg swinging about 3 ft horizontally. Horid mechanics

Ridiculous.

Turang getting lifted for Monestario is telling.

Of what?  Monasterio has a higher career OPS vs LHP than Turang has this year.

Maybe! Except it’s Murphy making this move and be has been batting Turang lead off for over a month.

And when you look at turang's numbers over the last 30 games it's pretty awful.
