Rock seems to think the Brewers struggling offensively now means we are getting it out of the way before the playoffs………..if only it was that easy every team would arrange offensive slumps at the perfect time……

Yep. And once these guys grow up a bit his style is gonna stop working.

He is publicly critical of the players when they lose. It's garbage and it's gonna have an expiration date.

As a tactician he's the worst I've seen in a long time.

I don't see that from him at all. He goes out of his way not to blame them, saying they are still a young team that will grow from tough losses.

Only good news is football in ten minutes to take my mind off this team.

Some of the weakest swings I’ve ever seen.

Yeah but its against a great Colorado pitching staff so its soooooo understandable.

This home stand has done so much to sour my hopes for the Brewers' playoff odds. We have 3 good hitters and if they get neutralized our offense has basically nothing to offer.

Certainly he will be non-tendered after the season. So the question is in the next 20 games does he have something to offer over the next man up, if so a DFA would be merely punitive— which the Brewers wouldn’t do.

Given that they optioned a far better reliever to activate Hoby again, I would say the answer to this is no, Hoby does not have something to offer over the next man up. Or even the next 3 men up. If Misiorowski or Yoho was brought up, does anyone really expect them not to outperform Hoby?

I’m here to beat my DFA Milner drum again

How on earth does he have a roster spot?

How can I see this so clearly but somehow knowledgeable baseball Front Office leaders & our manager keep him on the team & pitching in tight games?

I’m sure he’s a swell guy & a great teammate - but he’s been terrible all season

I pray he doesn’t make the playoff roster

It’s time to say goodbye & thank him for a few good years prior to this season

He offers absolutely nothing - cut him loose today

If you can't understand it, it's just because you don't understand modern player evaluation

The formula Milner has used to be one of the most effective lefty specialists in the league the last two years has been to throw a bunch of strikes, get a bunch of weak contact, and strike out just enough guys to limit traffic. That looks like this:

23.5 K%, 5.3 BB%, 49.9 GB%, 85.9 Avg EV, 4.7 Barrel%

And then here's what he's done this year:

23.8 K%, 6.2 BB%, 51.3 GB%, 87.6 Avg EV, 2.5 Barrel%

Nobody can honestly say they'd be willing to bet with confidence which of those had the 2.79 ERA and which has the 5.03 ERA

He made a bad pitch to Hilliard and probably deserved that result, but it's not hard to see why he keeps getting chances. He hasn't actually been that different from the guy that was really good for the Brewers the last two years

I like Perkins in CF with his awesome defense but without Yelich the outfield offense is severely lacking beyond Chourio.

I remember people thinking we had an over abundance of talented young outfielders yet that seems to not be panning out other than Jackson.

Others may feel differently but winning the divsion only to go out in the first round again will be a big failure to me.

Yeah that's BS. You said this team would be a 75 win team at best. How can the season possibly be a failure if a 75 win team at best makes the playoffs?

Been saying this for a long time now.  They how won with like 2 or 3  guys hitting and then a random player showing up every now and then.  It’s taken them all year but I truly think they’re finally showing who they are.  Good pitching with crappy hitters.

I quoted the Vegas odds and I also happened to bet the over so once again you have no idea what you are talking about. I have the receipt to prove my over bet so how about that.

They desperately need Hoskins to hit which is possible but if not the lineup is quite shallow.

I've been the biggest Hoby defender but he probably should be DFA'd at this point. He is ARB3 next year and will likely be around $4M. Combine that salary with him not being optionable and having 2 LHP ahead of him in the bullpen depth chart (not even counting Hall or Ashby).

Even a lefty specialist in today's MLB has to be at least serviceable at getting righties out. At least on a competitive team. The LOOGY is dead. The modern rules have made them antiquated, particularly the 3 batter minimum. You can't afford to carry a lefty specialist that serves no other purpose.

Liar. You were not quoting Vegas odds.
