Wisconsin Weather Thread

It's cold and I can't find the older thread like this, so discuss Wisconsin weather here.  

It's so cold my dog doesn't even waste 15 minutes sniffing around the yard.  Just does his business so quickly I worry about him hurting himself, then time back in the house 😂

Meanwhile in Alaska we've been above freezing, the snow's all gone, sled dog races have had to be postponed, and travel, especially driving or walking,  is far less than ideal due to there being glare ice with water on top of it everywhere.  What a dumb winter.

It was a warm winter here in Phoenix but the last few days have been brutally cold with highs only in the mid 50’s.

It’s been in the teens here iN NW Arizona the last few mornings.  Everybody else is saying how freezing it is.

It’s been chilly.  But that’s about it.  Winter coat?  Yep.  Zipped up?  Nah.

 

i do understand, though.  You spend enough time in a climate and your body adapts.  So people here think 40° is cold.  I think it’s great.

I guess I have too many memories of being in that -40° wind chill crap that these Arizona “winters” still are mild as heck.

(similarly, summers are blisteringly hot, but it’s so dry that it’s really not all that bad to me.   The humidity kills me so I’m glad we only get that during monsoon season.)

EDIT:  Have to share . . . we are under a winter weather advisory for Sunday/Monday.  The school district is already mulling over cancelling school.  Seriously.  We'll probably get an inch if we're lucky.  It definitely will not be another Snowmageddon (we got 13" in one 12-hour period back in 2019!  It was amazing!)

Weatherman teased a "pattern change" coming Wisconsin's way with low pressure later this week....I hope so and that it brings some snow.  I miss the old days of a couple pre-christmas big snows but I'll take anything I can get at this point.

In today's world and climate I'm finding the rugged, off-road capabilities of my vehicle much more useful for city street potholes than for any actual challenging driving situations 😂

Living just west of MPLS, so not really WI-specific winter weather - lack of snow is getting annoying, but temperatures have been much more winterlike compared to last year...so much so that there's pretty much 2 solid feet of really good ice on local lakes and unleashing anyone with ice fishing gear out on them.  Happy about that after ice was barely walkable for a small portion of last year's winter around here!

 

Could really use a week or two to get some legitmate snow on the ground so my son has more than fake snow to learn how to snowboard on a few times, lol

Looks like a mild week here in La Crosse with sunny and 52 on Thursday in the forecast. We got a white christmas snow storm in December but then it rained and other than the occasional dusting still no snow here. By mid February we are on the downslope and then winter doesn't bother me much since I can see the end and it's warmer. Still would rather be in Florida...

Got some snow going this morning in Green Bay.  I'm usually done with winter by now but we've had so little snow I'm not sick of shoveling.  So if it's cold it might as well snow.

Woke up to decent snow in Green Bay today, some more to come.  Everything I was supposed to do at school today got cancelled, so it will be a nice quiet day at home watching it fall.

One year ago today Wisconsin had its first documented tornadoes in February.

Record high of 53 in Green Bay today.  I'm ready for spring 👍
