Murphy and Payamps blowing this really sucks for the rest of the team who put them into very good position with high probability of a win.  8 shutout innings.  Some timely hits on offense.  Blown.

What did Murphy do?

Heck, Jake Bauers would have done a better job than Payamps.

One factor that went into tonight’s pitching decisions in the ninth: Trevor Megill’s knee has lately been bothersome enough that he had an MRI. It was clean.

Even though the MRI turned out clean, it's not a great sign that his knee was apparently bothering him enough to have to get the MRI. We'll see what happens in the coming days and weeks.

The Big Leagues are the Rig Leagues!

We cannot afford to keep our closers like Hader and Williams.

Fire Rob Manfred!

We don’t always want to keep relief pitchers forever, even ones who were very good. Last night was not about systemic unfairness.

@treego14The first eight innings were fair until the ninth inning? 🙂Hudson, Koenig, Uribe and Mears all have sub 3.00 ERA this year. We have a good team.

The Brewers players were on their way to shutting out the Diamondbacks for the second consecutive day until our professional baseball players stopped throwing strikes. We expect our Triple-A pitchers to not have four walks in an inning. We probably expect our high school pitchers to not walk four in an inning.

We win last night if we retain Hader/Williams!

We cannot because the MLB is inherently unfair to small market teams!

This truth screams!

I appreciate the message you are sharing.

$9 million is not enabling Devin Williams to throw many strikes this year, either. Good relievers are good until they are not, in almost every case.

We all wish the Brewers payroll was higher, but that is not the world we live in today and probably not tomorrow either. Baseball players have bad days and yesterday two of our pitchers had bad days.

I was at that game, too.

from our seats down the RF line, it looked like our two-pitch pitcher couldn’t locate one of them and the DBacks were just sitting on the other.

didnt help that we had to listen to these two loudmouths behind us the whole game.  At least security told them to tone down the profanity after an inning.  But, ugh, what a terrible loss.

But it’s just one of many.  Gotta hope that it doesn’t roll them into a losing skid.

Oh, and Chourio’s home run was a bomb!  Wow!

I instantly thought of that game as well. I believe that game was 2007.
