The Timber Rattlers get us started at 1pm CST, needing a win at Quad Cities to salvage a 3-3 series split. RHP Tyson Hardin looks to repeat last week’s dominant start (5 IP, 0 R, 0 H, 1 BB, 4 Ks).

Can RHP Abdiel Mendoza put together a second terrific outing (3.2 IP, 0 R, 3 H, 4 BB, 1 HBP, 7 Ks last week) for AA Biloxi (today at home against Columbus), as they aim to avoid a 1-8 start to the season? 2B Eric Brown Jr. has a 7-game hitting streak, but only a .555 season OPS.

Didn't see what happened, but Yhoswar Garcia entered the game as a defensive sub for Luis Castillo after Castillo's AB in the top of the 2nd.

Hardin looks good so far, with 27 strikes on 36 pitches. 2IP 2H 0ER 0BB 4K

Castillo made a sliding attempt in the first inning and got his knee caught in the ground, creating a huge divot. Tried to stay in, but obviously eventually had to come out.

Tyson Hardin notched another impressive start with 4 IP | 0 R | 4 H | 0 BB | 5 K, and Jeferson Figueroa followed with two scoreless frames (1 H).  Zach Peek has taken the mound here bottom of seven and just surrendered a one out triple.

T-Rats scored the lone run of the game (so far) on a Juan Baez RBI single top of six.

Peek allowed the triple to score tying the game, but Wisco has rallied back here top of eight with a two RBI double from Jadher Areinamo, an RBI single from Blake Burke, and an RBI double from Eduardo Garcia to take a 5-1 lead.

Here's that EBJ 2-run homer. Shuckers lead 9-7 going into the top of the 9th. RHP Justin Yeager is seeking a 4-out save.

Yeager made it interesting with a walk, single and wild pitch in he 9th, but ultimately held on for the 9-8 Biloxi win.

EBJ (HR | BB), Lara (2B), Pratt (HR | 1B), Wilken (BBx2), Miller (1B | BB | HBP), Adams (2B | BB), Warren (1B | SF | SB), and  Murray (1Bx2 | SF | SB) made it a pretty full box for the Shuckers offense.

Brian Fitzpatrick picked up the win with three scoreless frames - 2 H | 2 BB | 4 K.

Yeager has really been incapable of carrying over his Winter League momentum in the early going. I can't help but notice his arm looks tired at present. Maybe he will need a reprieve at some point? OR perhaps he is simply trying to accommodate ye ol Shuckers maxim "Never doth a victory come easy in the Land of Oysters.".

If my eyes do not deceive me OF Adam Hall, with two more K in 3 AB today, is sitting at roughly a 50% K Rate on the season? I've stated he looks overmatched. He does indeed look overmatched. I don't know how long this experiment lasts.

EBJ is getting my hopes up. This is the guy who deserved a 1st round pick. Took him a while but he is on pace for a strong year

Myers went 5IP 6H 3ER 1K 1HR with 60 pitches. I'd think he gets one more rehab outing (75-ish pitches I'm guessing) before he gets called back to the bigs.

Sounds trail 5-1 in the bottom of the 9th with one out. Durbin walked and EMJ K'd. Seigler at bat

19-year old RHP Bryan Rivera makes his first start of 2025 for Low-A Carolina, after 2.1 innings (61 pitches) of relief 5 days ago. INF Jesus Made also gets his first 2025 action at the hot corner. Carolina’s already won their series at Myrtle Beach (up 4 games to 1).

Fielder's choice to second. Monasterio is the last chance for  Nashville.

Nope. Flies out to center and that's the game. Seigler drove in Durbin with a sac fly in the 4th for the Sounds' only rub of the game. Zimmermann gave up 2 (1ER) to extend the Redbirds lead to 5 in the 7th.

Sounds take the series 4-2. On to Charlotte.

I wouldn't even say it took him awhile. Two absolutely freak injuries killed serious momentum in High-A. Had a solid AFL. Then a wasted season with a completely broken set-up and swing. He simplified in the off-season and appears to be back to the player we thought he was in the early going. Lottttta season left so he is in no way out of the proverbial woods but his innate talent is why he was an easy comeback player choice for me before the season started. It's really awesome to see him experience success again. Last season was what it was: a confused baseball 'disaster'. But it was only one season. The same can likely be said for Wilken if he can keep the momentum going. Good signs early from both.

Watched Hardin. He works quick. He is primarily fastball, and works up in the zone. A few calls by the announcer for 94 mph, and another that was 89 - maybe it was a cutter or change? His slider was erratic and I think 2 of the hits were off sliders. Only a few hard hit balls, as one of the basehits was a dribbler between 1B and pitcher and 2B and Burke made a nice fielding play and flip from his glove but the runner beat it out. The biggest hit was his last out only a few feet away from a home run. But Hardin looked sharp and impressive again. Definitely a high zone fastball that the batters could not get to is his main pitch.

I wonder how many more outings before they are convinced Yerlin Rodriguez has found some measure of consistency. If he has, there is no point in having him at high-A anymore. The stuff is too good.

Why was Dinges subbed out at DH? He’s been on a tear.

Was wondering the same.

Did anyone see him leg out his double? Did he pull up or show any signs of anything?

I only follow box scores, but I swear Bitonti has turned a couple double plays throwing a guy out at 3rd after a putout this season. This one with the bases loaded and no outs in the 9th.

Still getting to show off his 3B skills.
