Jeferson Figueroa went 50 pitches in relief and now Jesus Broca is at 58 pitches, only for a Juan Baez error to extend the 6th inning. Rough.

Wisconsin trails 11-6 after Areinamo homered and Beloit’s wild relief pitcher allowed in 2 more runs.

So that error forced Broca to throw 9 more pitches and concede an RBI single. Gotta bring in another arm now. Still 2 outs in 6th inning. Wisconsin trails 12-6.

Since the brewers saw the errors Made had they moved him to 3rd just saying maybe he isn't a ss  long term

Last year Made played 27 games at SS, 12 at 3B, and 9 at 2B.

Luis Pena played 24 games at SS, 10 at 3B, and 8 at 2B.

I would guess they'll continue to move them both around as they move up the ladder to see who fits best where.

If it was just about errors Pena has 4 in 27 total chances for an .852 fielding percentage at SS so far this year compared to Made with 3 errors in 85 total chances for a .965 fielding percentage at SS so far this year.

After winning Game 1 earlier today, the Sounds get a chance to double up at Memphis behind rehabbing LHP DL Hall. C Anthony Seigler had 3 hits and 4 RBIs in that opening game. SS Freddy Zamora enters for Clarke as the only lineup change.

Sounds leading 5-0 in Game Two.

An EMJ triple and and Adam Hall single got the first run on the board top of four while another Anthony Seigler bomb added two more runs top of five.

Sounds kept it going in the fifth with a Dunn single, EMJ walk and Raynel Delgado RBI single. A wild pitch moved runners up to 2nd and 3rd with an Adam Hall single scoring another run. & now Zamora gets HBP to load em up for Jimmy Herron.

DL Hall went 2.2 scoreless with 1 H | 3 BB | 1 K throwing 49 pitches (30 strikes).

Ashby worked around a single, double and walk to put up a zero in the bottom of the fourth.

Just 34 pitches (and just 17 strikes) over 2 scoreless innings for Aaron Ashby: 1 double, 1 single, 2 walks, 1 K.

I figure he’ll need the whole month of rehab to get to the point of being an effective MLB reliever. He’s either “right” or atrocious, based on what we saw in 2024. So let’s get him right.

RHP Coleman Crow (4.2 scoreless IP, 8 Ks last week) and AA Biloxi look to double their series lead at Montgomery tonight. Our offense leads the 8-team Southern League in runs, doubles, homers, RBIs, walks, Ks (least), OBP, SLG, total bases and HBP, while Montgomery leads in hits, triples, AVG and GIDP (least).

Go Sounds! Two hyuge Dubs today. Opening 2-0 on the road vs a very competitive Redbirds squad via two shutouts winning 16-0 on aggregate is the stuff! Let's GO!

AND, even with the double header sweep the Sounds gain nothing on Lehigh Valley (Phillies) who are on a tear of late and sit 17 games over 0.500 (29-12) after beating Syracuse (Mets) 18-8 today. They opened their series with a 7-3 game one win Tuesday night. They've won 6 in a row. Currently the Sounds lead their meaningless division by 2.0 G over St. Paul (Twins). BUT, they trail Durham (Rays) and Jacksonville (Marlins) by 1/2 G each and the first place Iron Pigs (man, I love that name with a passion) by 4.0 G. Miles to go. Keep winning, gents! That's the ticket.

I think it's extremely important to point out two things here due to recent conversations:

(1) Very young players so these stats don't carry as much weight given the unrefined aspects of their defensive game.

(2) Minor League scoring is absurdly suspect in how they score errors. Made had quite easily, for example, three errors in a single game at Kannapolis. Not a single play was called an error. Last night, another example, Diaz threw a ball slightly up line in a lumbering pick off attempt to 3B (slow pop in Diaz). Baez very lazily attempted to catch the throw and tag in one motion while ricocheting the failed catch into shallow LF. A run scored as a result the other runner advanced. Error to the catcher. But, in reality, Baez just completely botched the routine play because as he is very prone to doing he tried to make a play that wasn't really there. I've also seen two bang-bang near collisions on catches in recent memory in the system (both in Biloxi) where both players were culpable and, yet, the scorer just chose the player whose glove was nearest the ball. Like the infield umps, the Minor League scoring is highly suspect.

I don't personally put all that much over-investment in these fielding percentages, in other words. They give us a vague idea in these lower levels. Seeing how the players move and how they react to situations in real time is more valuable information as far as I'm concerned. I mean, I still had people on this very board trying to convince me Tyler Black was a good defender based on defensive statistics and metrics. True story. Maybe I don't even have anything to add to this conversation 😅

My point exactly eye test is more important and wasn't me in regards to black being a good defensive player 😂

Adams again. My goodness. Sixth bomb. The lead-off King just continues to mash for power. 3-0 Shuckers. Crow continues to impress.

Every night in the Minor Leagues is a classic. Gotta love it. Happy they have the score right and the batter accurate. 😂

I said it before and I'll say it again:

I see every reason why RHP Coleman Crow can become an impactful level of pitcher in the mold of RHP Logan Henderson. Their similarities in stature and unexpected fire given their smaller (but very strong) size is uncanny. Different pitchers, yes. BUT, they share many similar traits. He just continues to impress with each successive outing.

We have a game in Montgomery. 3-3 after Mendoza can't limit the damage. He's at risk of seeing more damage with a runner on first base and falling behind 2-0 to the next batter. We've seen this rigamarole on more than one occasion in 2025 with Mendoza in particular. Hopefully, he can dig deep.

Yup. And, just like that the Biscuits take the lead. 4-3 after Ledbetter doubles (he has killed the Shuckers in the first two games). Mound visit.

I hate that minor league playoffs are so short. I know the leagues exist mainly for development and whatever but man it would be nice to see a Bo3 series and a Bo5 championship series. I know the players would love to play for some hardware
