It’s not a bad series. It just won’t move the needle in a significant way now at all like a sweep would have.

What?!?!

We still cannot sweep this series?!?!

Is this a Rob Manfred dictate?

Get some Terro liquid ant bait. That stuff works unbelievably well. They'll be gone in two days.

Way ahead of you. :)

I thought a rally might still be in the cards down 5-3.

I think it’s a little too much, too late now.

No.  Harper just told him to @&&( off to sweeps

Winning 2 of 3 is a win for me.

(imagine if we were swept, you guys would lose your minds).

Let's just stay healthy and take at least 2 games next month in Wrigley.

The rest will shake out.

Murphy not willing to hold his best players accountable?  Other guys have been publicly benched at times this year, but won’t sit Contreras the last 3 innings of a blowout when he loafs down the line and costs the team a baserunner????

He will have a talk with him I'm sure. Not sure what accountable means?

We have a defense first shortstop who has to be pinch hit for late in games. Then your defense is shuffling all over late in games. Wait till playoffs start.😬

2 in Wrigley would not be a great result as the Cubs would win the season tiebreaker.

Need to win that series.

Now that's just silly wishing !!

I didn’t expect a sweep coming into the series, but having them on the ropes today, I am disappointed that we didn’t get it.

Oh well, we knew it wouldn’t be easy.

I just want that division title and top 2 seed badly.

The thought of another 3 game series wild card exit this year is impossible to stomach.

Um...Easton McGee looked filthy that inning.

He’s a 1 inning type guy, apparently.

All in all, a successful series. Disappointing to not get the sweep, but this is coming down to the last week.

Nats and Braves this week. Be nice to post a lot of wins and pick up a game or two.

Biggest takeaway for me lately is Turang and Durbin getting innings at shortstop.

If Turang is gonna be sketchy at 2B all of a sudden, we may as well give him a week or two at short to at least see what happens. (Collins, Durbin, or a Trade at 2B/3B)

I think what we are seeing from Turang is being tired. Murph rides his starters too hard.

And our bench players are pretty weak.

More unfortunate that the team started getting behind relatively early with its nominal #1 starter going (Peralta) and a reliever that may need to be depended on (Hall). Squandering a chance at the sweep feels worse than a loss in the standings, though it is only one loss.

To be fair, his bench players are Anthony Seigler and Andruw Monasterio.

Right but Monasterio can play against some tough lefties.
