Selflessly, I want all 3 of Made/Pena/Fischer to crush it the rest of the year and be in AA next year to start.

Selfishly, living 9 minutes from the TRats stadium I only have 4 potential home games the rest of the year with the 3 of them together... which is a real bummer.

Either way, the TRats have been a hard sell this year thus far so getting some star power here is nice. Bad luck for the local stadium team we will only have them for so few games.

High-A Wisconsin has a 12:10pm CST start in their home contest against Great Lakes, with RHP Manuel Rodriguez (2.50 ERA, 0.95 WHIP, 8.1 K/9 in 57.2 IP) looking to lead them to a 2-0 series lead. Daniel Guilarte (tough year: .428 OPS) starts in the outfield for the first time in his 4-year Minor League career.

I think Made enjoys his High-A environment. Just a hunch. Second consecutive RHP Manuel Rodriguez start where he is giving up the long ball. He and Patrick have had extremely uncharacteristic stacked outings where they are getting shelled in mistake locations. Bummer!

Men on 2nd and 3rd bottom of the 4th in a 2-2 count. Dinges missed two absolute hanger off-speed pitches - fouled back a belt high dead center curve with a massive hack and was just in front of a hanging change-up. He then is called looking at a very questionable change-up that certainly appeared an inch or two below the zone. He was not happy. I was not happy. In the distance, children wailed.

I'm going to be out most of the evening, I'm going to physical therapy in downtown Spokane in the late afternoon and then am meeting the family for dinner. It's going to be that rare Wednesday where I catch up to everything around 7-8 pm PST. Hopefully, we get some good games!

After the very questionable strike three call that ended the T-Rats threat to end the 4th, RHP Jack Seppings comes aboard and works a 1-2-3 in the 2-through-4 spots in the line-up. More importantly, Gelof flies out instead of going yard.

As bad as you think OF Luis Castillo's season might be? It's absolutely that bad. Granted, 60 AB. BUT, man alive, he isn't making contact. He is hitting like 0.050. He has zero slug. With his defensive limitations this is a truly concerning development for a fringe prospect.

Rain in Fayetteville, delayed for game 1 of muddies

Low-A Carolina has a doubleheader at Fayetteville, with RHP Griffin Tobias (4.53 ERA, 1.30 WHIP, 7.3 K/9 in 51.2 ACL/Low-A IP) starting the opening game after 11 straight relief appearances. CF Braylon Payne has a 16-game on-base streak.

Scary moment for Braylon Payne. Made a diving catch in CF but looked like his spike caught in the grass so he awkwardly rolled after the dive. All appears well. Don't think a trainer went out there but didn't look fun for him.
