Carolina are 2 outs away from being no hit in the second doubleheader

Jose Anderson breaks up the no hitter with a sharp grounder between the 3B and SS. Di Turi comes to the plate as the tying run.

For all we know Made and Pena have merchandise deals, and since they don't speak English they don't want to even attempt to say no.

The vibe they gave off was pure arrogance, sorry to say...

I mean my goodness, this is a ridiculous amount of entitlement because players didn't sign autographs.

Edit: I just want to clarify that it’s fine to be disappointed they didn’t sign autographs but the over the top character assassination trying to label them as selfish or disrespectful is just extremely entitled. The players are not required to sign autographs before the games and it’s been two games.

Maybe so, but no other players act like that.  I've been going to T-Rats games for 2 decades, and I've never seen players act like this.  I mean seriously, a bunch of kids go to the stadium at 8:00 am in hopes of meeting two superstar prospects, and they can't even get acknowledged?  Just completely ignored?  There wasn't a mob of people being rude and endangering them, it was a handful of people...

Of course players are not required, but just out of pure decency you'd think they could sign a ball for a few people.  All the other players do it, what makes these two so special they can't, or won't?

You call me entitled?  I could say that they are entitled to think they owe fans nothing.  The same fans that support them and will get them their big pay-days which are surely coming.

Whatever, I guess if maybe you had seen their demeanor it might have allowed you a different opinion, or not...

Still going to root for them as long as they are Brewers property, but I expected better...

Just getting back from my first PT appointment since I was a Division I athlete 27 years ago. My gods. Humbling. This old man is wrecked😅

It's time to dive into some games. Thank you any and all for the tidbits and observations you've offered above.

To be honest I'm just naturally skeptical of autograph seekers in general.

Little kids trying to get a ball signed by a player they love? Sure, that's great. I have a niece who held up a sign for Frelick and he gave her a ball. But she knows him because she's watched hundreds of games with her dad and she thinks he's cute. What kid is gonna know who a couple 18 year olds on the T-Rats are? Made and Pena are certainly aware by now that the people looking for their autographs are doing it because it might be worth something someday.

Well, it certainly looks like the RHP Julian Mayweather debut went about as well as we could hope. Nice to see that. What a debut by Kuehner. Too bad he has this version of the Sounds backing him up at the plate. Not a lotta wiggle room in recent weeks.

Another Wednesday and late meetings. And also some good (Mudacts early win, Kuener debut, and some kids getting hits Made, Pratt, Burke, Quero) but some bad (very few hits and only 4 for Mudacts in two games; and a bunch of losses).

Looks like another Wednesday on the farm.

Should be back in form tomorrow.

Gasser, Cornielle, Gillis, Mercado - intriguing group of starters.

The Top of the 6th AB by 1B Tyler Black sums up his 2025 season to perfection. Quero had just ripped a deep liner that was snared but allowed Delgado to tag to 3B. Black steps in and strikes out in three pitches. He goes down swinging at a change-up off low and in off the plate. Way too many of these type of completely uncompetitive AB's. It's like he's a completely different player for the past year or so. Where did that highly competitive Contact King with some punch sail off to? <Sad Face>

Kuehner is still touching 95 mph with heavy ride in the sixth. He's also still working with heavy off-speed movement. K's Misner. The Durham announcers speak to how impressed they are with his debut. Fantastic work for Kuehner. Truly.

And then in the blink of an eye, Sounds killer Bob Seymour hits his 4th nuke in two games. My goodness. 3-2 heater dead center. Seymour has some massive power. His 30th of the season.

Man, Mayweather's got a really nice arm side run change-up. Whewww. Got the final K swinging. Going to have to see the horizontal and vertical movement on that pitch. She had some feisty! Two other K's were swinging on breaking balls/sliders. Heater sat 95-97 mph. Fantastic debut. Works fast.

So, is nobody going to discuss the fact C Darrien Miller suffered his third catcher's interference infraction of the past two weeks (two in DeBerry's debut) and this one resulted in him getting hammered with a swing on his glove hand? These batters are all way back in the batters box and Miller is up on them and he is lunging toward the ball and it is putting him in harms way. It didn't look good. And, this is possibly a real blow for the Shuckers roster given he's had a much better second half. Such a great young man you hate to see this happen. BUT, also, is three catcher's interference infractions in two weeks a high number? It seems to me it is. Let's hope it isn't as serious as it looked.

It seems like Ethan Workinger took over what Bob Seymour did last year to the Shuckers.

And now Seymour is torturing the Sounds.

Like I said, it was pretty disappointing seeing this behavior from such young guys.  Just didn't sit well.

I was more disappointed with Made's hustle out-of-the-box on the dropped swinging strike 3. The catcher bobbled it, and Jesus would have made it safely to first had he been running instead of walking back to the dugout.

But there is plenty of time to mature both on and off the field.

These are kids playing thousands of miles from home, with a bunch of strangers staring at them, watching their every move after they just woke up early for a day game. I can't even imagine what that must feel like when you're younger and richer (and frankly, more important to the organization) than nearly every teammate, coach, or individual fan.

You have every right to be disappointed about the autographs, but let's just let them settle in a little bit. Not every player is going to be Sal Perez right out of the gate.

Like I said above, I have read/heard that there are some things those two need to work on outside of the batter's box that leads me to believe that there is a decent chance that they start 2026 in A+.   Not guaranteeing it, just saying that there's a decent chance.

You'd be surprised at all the young kids that follow the Brewers minor league players, especially since they now come through Appleton.  Have you been to a game to witness it?  Have you been to an autograph Sunday game, where all (well, 90% ) of the players come out after the game to sign? I think you are probably a little naïve if you think the youngsters don't know who Made and Pena are, especially the super fans that age!

Again, it was their demeanor that was disappointing.  had you seen it, you'd know what I'm talking about.

Ok, obviously I'm in the minority on the subject judging by all the thumbs down reactions.

I was just hoping for a little humbleness and appreciation towards the fans when they showed up in Appleton.  It's not like these are seasoned vets who have been dealing with fans and signing things for them for 10 years or so.  These are 18 year old kids who you'd think were still able to enjoy the adoration shown by fans.

Like I said, it hasn't been an issue with players in the past, even guys like Monte Harrison, who was a dick to fans, but still signed for them...

I shudder at the thought of people lined up outside or inside my workplace yelling my name and asking for autographs everyday. It might be flattering the first time it happens but personally it would become a point of dread for me almost immediately.

Point being everyone is different, with different personalities, and desire to interact with strangers. I actually look more poorly on those who don't take other's comfort zones into consideration and in turn expect these players to stop what they're doing and provide the autograph or even acknowledgement each and every time they are in a public setting. I find that expectation odd and unfair.
