I have a likely irrational wish that Haase was still our backup catcher.

He is in Nashville.

Chicago is forecasting heavy storms basically all night. That game is almost definitely getting called no matter whose job that is.

Our pen could use it.

Not they are not.

It's possible some moron told you that, but it's not true.

The weather I see on the radar might effect today's game b4 it ends, but tonight's game will definitely be played.

What a bizarrely aggressive post when it very easily contradicted.

I do enjoy the fact that part of the reason he left was because Chicago has more financial resources to build teams with and yet they've mostly sat on those resources and have struggled to catch the Brewers in the standings.

Exactly. Counsell is hyper competitive. He didn't think Milwaukee had the resources to win it all. And he's clearly bothered by losing to the Brewers.

Personally I don't hate the guy, I just think the whole situation is poetic justice. Hopefully we'll get our trophy and Counsell will eventually come back to Wisconsin with his tail between his legs after winning jack squat with the Cubs.

That's the Freddy inning that other seasons ends up with 2+ runs scoring, so I'll take it!

He was given way too much credit for organizational competence that had zilch to do with him, and it shows. The competitive imbalance in baseball is simply too drastic for a manager to cause the kind of success the Brewers have enjoyed with their limited resources.

Freddy has had innings like that this year and then came out the next inning and looked great.  Hopefully that’s the case today, but I’d get the pen moving around just in case.  Probably should be a short leash the rest of the way.

That was Ball 4 and a run, so he got mighty lucky that he chased.

Lucky, perhaps. But it's also what you do when you see a batter itching to swing.
