Game 4: Packers @ Cowboys - Sunday, Sept 28 7:20 PM

I thought the 4 minute offense in that last drive was masterful ... until the bubble screen on 1st & 10 w/ 30 seconds left (that's so LaFleur, and incredibly frustrating) and then the awful checkdown into the flat on the next play (should've just thrown incomplete there).

I know the clock doesn't matter if you score a TD, but the clock does matter if you find yourself in 4th down and need to settle for a FG. Especially with a kicker on the other team known for drilling 60+ FGs.

I don't think there has ever been a team this in need of a week 5 bye.

Remember what Yoda said:

"Cubs lead to Cardinals. Cardinals lead to dislike. Dislike leads to hate. Hate leads to constipation."

This team needs some soul searching over the bye. You are not as good as you think you are. You just got punched in the face by two bad teams 2 weeks in a row.

MLF needs to look in the mirror as well. He shoulders a lot of blame and stop saying I need to do better. He has been saying that for the last 5 years, with no improvement.

He’s always pointing the finger at himself and saying he made the mistake.

He’s great at admitting his mistakes. Learning from them, not so much.

Yes - but he cant make that throw hoping the rb can make a guy miss to to pick up am extra two yards and stop the clock by getting out of bounds.  The read needs to be in the end zone and out breaking routes where a catch is instantly out of bounds if youbare short of the goal line

They should not have even been throwing the ball. With any hustle whatsoever, they likely just run the victory in after Wilson's second long run. The defensive front was getting pushed around when we decided to start loitering and kick what MLF acted like was a game-winning FG. Insane to watch.

They had run it down enough though and Dallas had no timeouts. They were getting like 8 yards a rush at the end. If you get stopped on 3rd down, let it run and kick.

It was masterful until about 1:20. Then they were taking about 30 seconds to get a play off.

And both Tirico and Collinsworth kept harping on the FG and the chance Dallas would get the ball back.   Oh how I dislike NBC.

It kind of started when they didn't get a play in before the 2 minute warning.

Someone else said it earlier above, but when they let the clock run down before the 2 minute warning you could see Love didn't like the call. He wanted to keep attacking and run another play.

Just seemed like no urgency there to go for the W when we had them on the ropes for a TD and almost playing for the tie...and time almost expired.

Wilson was getting 8 yards a pop and the DL was on ventilators. Go no huddle and run the ball. They had plenty of time. Just chose to waste it.

This!!   They would have scored quick if they would have hurried.   What a disaster that was

It was how they lost the Cleveland game, but without the blocked kick, too.

Bengals game will be interesting in a couple of weeks.

MLF teams historically have not been good coming off byes

My thought exactly...at least they get what I imagine is another bum team assuming Burrow is still out.

We lost to the Browns and Dallas just got curb stomped by the Bears. I don't think we can look down on anyone.

mlf for whatever reason has the talent to be a good play caller......sometimes

I genuinely think he might be stupid though.

Has to be really easy to lose focus on important aspects of the game as a head coach when you are also calling plays.

That's absolutely an excuse, but probably has alot to do with what's going on with the late game chaos situations.  Some guys just aren't cut out for that as a head coach.  Knowing Biasaca helps with game management items just solidifies my belief he should be canned, too.

I wasnt disagreeing - something tells me the Packers use the extra time a bye week provides for way more than game planning against/focusing on their next opponent, and it shows on the field.

The kicker on that last drive was that Dallas had no timeouts left.

So even if you feared kicking a FG with clock left, you had full control of that situation once it got under a minute. If you even get to 3rd down and run the ball with under 50 defends left, they’re not going to be able to get the ball back.

A touchdown ends the game regardless of when it is scored. Their approach was inexplicable.

Im pretty sure the offense was also on ventilators in that spot, too.  OT often looks liie this, when everyone on the field is gassed.  At least it was good to not see a catastrophic turnover or bad holding penalty result in a loss.  Tying the cowboys is next to no consolation, though.

The playcalls absolutely made it worse, though - bubble and swing screens had lineman running a ton, plus those plays resulting in minimal gains or even lost yards kept the clock rolling.

I feel no differently than after a loss, frankly. Maybe you go into Detroit and come out with a tie you feel ok about it. Nothing to feel good about today other than Love played well. It felt like a vintage Aaron Rodgers heyday game where the QB had to do everything when the supporting cast did nothing.

We won’t have to try to figure out any tiebreakers this year. Take that consolation for what it’s worth I guess.

I dunno. I think I'd feel worse had the Packers lost. Granted, I don't feel great about the tie. But because of poor special teams and defense, they were thisclose to losing another stinky game. As you mentioned, at least Love played well. If he hadn't, this would've been a blowout loss.
