Civale and Rea pitched like this against Brewers too…you could throw up AAA pitchers now it seems and expect results.  It’s one of those type of stretches.

Was talking to my in-laws today (both Twins fans) about the 1965 World Series.

Koufax threw 24 innings in that series. He gave up 2 runs, only 1 earned. He pitched a complete game shutout in Game 5. Then, he did the same thing ON TWO DAYS REST in Game 7.

We had a fun time seeing how many names from the Twins roster they could remember. They did pretty good for all this happening 60 years ago.

Point is: baseball is great, win or lose. You don't remember these games if you're not a part of them.

Go Crew! Let's get one and see where it goes.

were two of them Killebrew and Oliva, and perhaps Earl Battey a 3rd

The problem with the 97 win brewers in this series is the guys we spend money on like Hoskins Yelich woodruff are nowhere to be found.   Somehow we have to do a better job when we do spend the money.   Does that mean Contreras, Peralta.   I don’t know.

With our budget, we have to work primarily through our system, making savvy trades, and finding potential on discards. We've done a great job of it so far. But it would be nice to just buy a couple of really good hitters for this squad.

I would take beating the Cubs 100 out of 100 times if it meant getting swept by the Dodgers.

I mean, me too. Doesn’t mean I’m not a little ticked and disappointed about being completely bent over. I thought we were a little better than that.

At some point, this just turns into loser mentality, and we've arrived there.

Every single game Murphy starts Ortiz and late in the game ends up having to say “welp, that didn’t work” and pinch hit for him.

You got it!

My favorite was the MVP. Zolio Versalles.

Mudcat Grant and Jim Kaat big names too.

I might be able to name the 2011 Brewers better than the 2018 ones, mostly because of the bullpen and more established rotation.

Another nice outing for Patrick.  Sure hope this looks him in the starting rotation next year.  He certainly earned it.

"Rock, sometime, when the team is up against it, and the breaks are beating the boys, tell 'em to go out there with all they got and win just one for the Uecker. I don't know where I'll be then, Rock but I'll know about it; and I'll be happy."

Not at all. Would you have preferred the other way around, losing to the cubs on our field?

I cherish beating the cubs and ruining their hopes. It's like sweet nectar.

Yep. He and Miz will win a lot of games for us.

We’re in the playoffs. One of the last 4 team still playing. I’d rather have this than what we experienced in 2002. Just saying.

If you say so.   I hate the Cubs with a passion   I would do anything to beat them.  The Dodgers are better than the Brewers.  I wish we would have put up more of a fight but they weren’t winning this series.   This Dodgers team isn’t anything close to what they saw in the regular season.

Montesario had a really nice stretch when Ortiz was hurt... certainly earned a couple of starts in the post season... Let Ortiz come in as a defensive replacement instead of the other way around.
