I’ve been on this site for 25 years since before WOAH SOlVD or whatever it was, and I know people here don’t like Ozuna, but this is the absolute perfect signing for us this off season for roughly 1-8.  This bat would help the lineup at a value imo.

The absolute perfect signing is the best bat we can afford, which is Ozuna.   His best position is probably DH, yes.   Yelich would have to play left and Contreras catch quite a bit.

Yelich's back wouldn't last the season playing OF.  And Ozuna can't play OF.  Nope, just not a fit.

The last time Yelich played OF regularly was from 2021 to 2023 when he appeared in 107, 115 and 122 games on the grass.

Over those three years he was one of 91 outfielders with at least 1,500 innings and he came in at -6 DRS (76th) and -12 FRV (80th)...as a 29 to 31 year old pre-back surgery.

The last two years, in only 555 innings, he has put up -4 DRS and -4 FRV.

Ozuna makes zero sense for the Brewers.  Yelich can’t play in the OF due to his back issues and that probably eliminates him from 1B also.  Ozuna is also not that much of an improvement at DH over Yelich.  Yelich is also a downgrade overall to who the Brewers could play in LF.

The best fit as an at least plausible option is probably Bellinger due to the OF/1B combo he can handle.  If they were willing to 'go for it' a bit and he only costs a 2-3 year deal it could make a lot of sense.  I still would not love the contract as he's got that flop possibility in him, but I'd certainly get it and hope for the best.  If he gets to a 4-6 year type contract I'm a hard pass.

Thing is if the best he can do is a 2-3 type thing I don't see why he wouldn't just stay in NY with the right field porch.

Ozuna really doesn't make sense with Yeli on the roster

I don't want to pile on here, but this makes no sense at all.

Yelich playing in the field is over.  Only in an emergency situation does he go back out to LF.

We can't have 2 players that can only play DH, and Ozuna isn't even any better than Yelich to begin with.  We don't want him anywhere near the OF so this just  is baffling as to how you came up with him as an option, much less the "perfect signing."

HARD PASS!

Not to pile on more, but I agree with the other posters.

If he signs a 1 year deal with a team that doesnt end up contending, maybe he would make sense as a mid season acquisition. I don’t think we can roster him for a full season though.

Not lo pile on more, but i could be wrong on them.  That said, his bat might be a difference maker in the post season and if my 8 million and no prospects dealt estimate is somewhat accurate, maybe a year from now you’ll see how he fits a World Series team more than re arranging other deck chairs.
