Had the wrong guy on that one to make a play. Valentine's tackling leaves a lot to be desired and as we saw there that can be a pretty big negative for a CB.

Definitely. He tackles more like post-shoulder injury Jaire.

Nixon, Hobbs when he's healthy, our safeties, they all hit. Hopper at LBer is kinda known for that as well.

And BTW, I heard Terry talk about what a "Gutsy call" that was as we were in man coverage," they had 3 guys split to that side of the field including a big, physical WR. We call that play REGULARLY with 3 DBs within 5 yards of the LOS.

They actually called it exactly when they should have... but it doesn't matter. Valentine gave up the TD there.

12 men on the field "with the snap imminent?"  I don't remember that one before...

It's relatively recent.  There was a game where the giants were winning an intentionally playing with 12 men trading 5 yards for the 7 seconds of clock or so each play was taking.  Rule was changed that offseason.

Remember what Yoda said:

"Cubs lead to Cardinals. Cardinals lead to dislike. Dislike leads to hate. Hate leads to constipation."

MLF is the suppressant on this team. This just feels like yet another game that shouldn't be as close as it is and we are a 3rd quarter opening drive away from trailing. I don't get it. Trying not to beat the dead horse but it's just nauseating. I appreciate this is a good half on the road against a good team, but can't quite shake the feeling that it shouldn't be this close with how they're playing.

Is that just vibes take, because I liked his aggression on offense that half?

We’re in a tough environment against a good and motivated team. Up three at the break, so it could be worse. But the defense had a really rough second quarter.

You're right. But the Panthers, Cowboys and Browns games means we're going to need to win in these types of environments.

That's why this next 30 minutes is so big.

Yeah I guess you're right. Very disappointed in the defense giving up 7 at the end.

Yeah the defense was deflating for sure. They were not nearly as dominant there as we’ve come to expect. But I suspect the defense’s dominance is quite dependent on game script. Get ahead in the second half and they’re world beaters, but otherwise they may be only average.

The back half doesn't compliment the front half well. The Eagles have a lockdown CB... we do not. We have to play zone and if the pass rush doesn't get home, they'll find the holes.

And that was an incredible move by Gibbs.

CB and OL has to be a point of emphasis in the off-season. DL/LB are both... REALLY good. DT maybe as well, but... we can only do so much.

Nice stand by the defense - feels like we need a TD with this field position

Yes they do.

If you want to be considered a really good NFL team and you had a chance to inflict serious damage in a big game this drive needs to turn into points.

Absolutely HUGE 4th down stop!

Parsons, McDuffie and Wyatt with the initial penetration.

NOW... it's on you MLF and Jordan Love. You traded those 1sts so you could get the lead and let Parsons and all money, picks you've spent on this front get after the QB. So... with this field position, put it in the endzone.

I don't know what you wanted from him in the 1st half that you didn't get... and he started off the 2nd half perfectly IMO.

But NOW is when we need that turnover. Really put the pressure on the Lions.
