Our magic number is still two to make the playoffs. Yeah, it'll probably be one and done again but it's still good to at least play January football.

Maybe we find a way to beat the Vikings but that's in Minnesota. I don't see us beating the bears or the Ravens.

Bears versus the Lions the last game of the season might be for all the marbles

Kraft hurts, but it’s not like we struggled to move the ball or put up points today.

Watson has been great, but was anyone really counting on anything from him this season anyway? I figured with the recovery, literally anything we got from him this season is gravy anyway.

Losing Wyatt sucks but where has the correlation been? We still held the Broncos under 3 YPC today. It’s not like the run defense has suffered as a result.

Fact is the starting corners on this team are among the worst in football. So we either rush the passer, or we get shredded.

Not untrue, but they were drastically better with Watson, both today, and when he came back overall this season.

There is zero chance whatsoever this team goes anywhere without Micah though. The goose is cooked. Just an absolutely catastrophic course of events tonight for this team and fan base. Could not have been any worse. And of course he didn't break his collarbone. He had to tear his ACL to put next year in jeopardy and raise questions as to whether or not he'll be the same guy.

I genuinely hope we just flame out and miss the whole thing. I'm dead inside.

Not that I disagree, but it’s crazy how many people think we’re absolutely toast because of Parsons.

I mean if that’s the case, the guys running this organization aren’t doing a very good job at it because I assume you would have also felt we were toast on August 27th, the day before we traded for Parsons. What happened to “youngest team in the league, up and coming, etc etc”?

I get that Parsons hasn’t been the only guy lost obviously but everyone was still high on our chances up until the moment he went down.

Did you watch the game today?

It's NOT just Parsons. It's Watson-likely broken collar bone.

Tom is hurt.
Kraft was hurt before that and our best DT and interior pass rusher was hurt before THAT.

It's literally 4 of the 5 most important players on the team... and YOU'RE the one who said we're a "1 player fraud."

That's not it at all.

If Parsons is the only player who is hurt... we're probably not going to win, but we've got a chance. Without Parsons... AND those players we're done.

Wyatt is... and always has been a better pass rusher than run defender and it's never been close. He's gotten better at the later, but pass rushing was his strength.

Did you read my last paragraph? I said I understand there have been other injuries — but no one — no one at all was throwing in the towel on the season until Parsons went down. That was the one.

Yes, I do believe we’re frauds on defense without Micah.

Our corners can’t cover, and Gary and Van Ness aren’t good enough without Micah to generate enough of a pass rush to make up for that weakness. That’s a death sentence for the defense.

You mean where you make a declaration about how high everyone was on our chances without knowing about Tom's status or Watson's?

And no, I wasn't high on their chances with Watson likely out for the year and Tom's status up in the air.

So... you can make this broad statement about how everyone "felt" but that's your perception. I'm curious how you arrived at that conclusion? A poll or... what?

As for the "frauds without Micah," I... don't care if you beieve that. We were a top 5-6 defense last year without him. I think he gave us a much better chance to win. I don't know what "frauds" means other than kids on Twitter running their mouths.

We were a good enough team to win WITH him depsite other injuries. Now we're not...WITH the other injuries.

The fraud nonsense... it means as much to me as that 67 ********.

LOL... I don't know man, it doesn't feel right when you're the most optimistic guy!

I mean, you're not the most pessimistic... but... we're all in on a 3-4 year window. Making the playoffs or losing in the playoffs, it just doesn't mean a ton to me.

We are a spoiled fan base. A "blue sky," fan base as some say(at least until we get to NFCCGs).

I can't believe the Packers dropped 4 interceptions....or was it 5? at least 3 were gimmes too.

At least let's find out the degree of how serious the injuries to Tom, Watson, etc. are before we call the season a catastrophe. For all we know, all of them will be back come Saturday and if that's the case, there's no reason we still can't run the table. Baltimore is not the same team they have been in the past. I think to call that an automatic loss is preposterous, especially playing that game at home.

We have to be in the bottom four or five teams in the NFL for defensive interceptions this year

Comes with the territory of having bad corners.

The future of football, and we're halfway there, is playing to go 10-7 so that your key guys are available in January. Every sport has followed this trajectory.

Going to the 17 game schedule was a mistake. And I fear you are correct. I enjoy the long baseball season and the resting of guys just feels different there. But I always appreciated the idea in football that every game was impactful.

is that backed up by any kind of statistical proof? PFF grades? asking because I don't know

We are not a spoiled fan base.

Boston fans have a spoiled fan base.

Los Angeles fans have a spoiled fan base.

Kansas City fans have a spoiled fan base.

I don’t know how anyone could watch professional Wisconsin sports the last decade or two and consider this a spoiled fan base. Seems a lot more snake bitten than spoiled.

The sports Gods tossed us a bone in 2021 and let Giannis have a moment.

Other than that, it’s been nothing but heartbreak.

Just because we aren’t Cleveland Brown or New York Jet fans doesn’t make us spoiled.

I wouldn't write them off. They have a really good front office and arguably one of the two best head coaches in the NFL.

Nah, was more just throwing shade at our corners.

Hitting a couple points here:

The Packers corners suck. It was a known problem before the season. It was everyone's concern before the Parsons trade. We have been masquerading Nixon as a CB1. He is a journeyman type that, sure, can play some ball, but he's a nickel starter that can thrive in the slot. We are trying to make him Jaire, and he's not. That's been passable with Parsons rushing. It was immediately exposed and will continue to be. Hobbs is possibly the worst move of Gute's career.

The Chiefs will be OK. They are in that inevitable downturn that every star QB faces. Brady did, Rodgers did. They'll have to retool, Kelce is done, but Mahomes will do what the greats do and reshape his game a bit.

And I think it's time to put the "spoiled fan" stuff to bed. You can look at gross total and wins craft the narrative you like, but I think you'd be very hard pressed to find a team that's won 7 MVPs at QB, played in 9 NFC Championships in that tenure...and walked out with 2 trophies.

That's a brutal track record. They amounted to the same Super Bowl record as Ben freaking Roethlisberger. I'm the first to point out that's not the be-all, end-all, but that is some truly God-awful luck. Of course yeah, it's a lot better than being the Browns. But there is no denying that this state has had its heart absolutely ripped out consistently for most of 30 years. Putting some of those shortcoming under the microscope makes it all that much worse. They have lost in some truly gut wrenching ways, and today adds to the lore.

Cheer up, you have 92-95 Brewer wins to look forward to next year.

This is of course leading up to them getting the doors blown off them by the Dodgers in October, but summer will be fun.

Yeah... that's true. Tom seems like a less serious injury based on MLF's comments.

Watson... he gave the "it doesn't look good," type statement, but... maybe it's not season ending.

My problem with this defense going into the year is we didn't have the CBs to play man. I think we can still get pressure on the QB... but Parsons gets those explosive QUICK pressures. Gary's a good edge, but... there's a huge gap.

If we're without Watson, I'm just not sure how we score. Watson OR Kraft and we can move the ball, but neither?

IDK, I think it's on to '26, but I'll try.

To quote you, "did you read my last paragraph?"

And the Rams haven't been a better organization than the Packers. Unless you're including all sports which... given this is a Packers thread, I obviously wasn't.
