Maybe Sal Frelick has maxed out his talent and he’s just not big and strong enough

Zerpa has missed way to many pitches middle middle the last couple outings. Starting to see why he has had a 4 plus era the past couple years.

I didnt like that Murph didnt walk Lopez (the best Marlin bat) with 1st one. Turang bailed Zerpa out. Then not swapping out for a righty vs. Slater who is great vs. Lefties and trash vs. righties. Again Brice may have saved the game on that play.

I doubt that's something you can challenge so if the ump missed it there's not much you can do other than get tossed.

He has proved he doesn't need to be strong enough. However right now he just isn't hitting line drive lots of weak pop up and 2 hop grounders. His bat is getting worrisome but he does have enough of a track record to be able to turn it around quickly.

You can 100% come out and say something about it, and they can huddle and change it if it’s wrong. It wasn’t a “well there’s nothing they’re going to do” situation. He just didn’t notice.

He had another early hook on a starter that was performing very well and once again did not manage the pen well.

Maybe, but even with last year his career OPS is .699 in 1400+ career PAs
