Whatever, I'm sure his teammates loved it.

HIGHLY doubtful.  The majority of them were probably embarrassed as well.

I'm sorry but you really buy that? If they were going to throw at a Brewer why didn't they do it? They had all the reason to do it especially after Uribe did what he did.

Uribe said this happened yesterday fwiw....

This isn't the 80 or 90s. Murph is the dinosaur here.

You guys are all at least somewhat familiar with Andrew Fischer, right? You want him to tone down his emotion? Because I that's going to be something to see. He's going to make so many teams mad and I can't wait.

I'm not going to hate on Abner from this day forward, I'm sure after thinking about it, and probably getting talked to by a couple of his teammates, he will understand why that just wasn't cool.

I hope everyone puts it behind them, especially Uribe, and we move forward.

Young guys live and learn...

Uribe honestly kind of looks like a shell of what he was last year so far this season.

I was at the game and when he threw down the rosin bag, I said, “his head is messed up.”

gotta watch the replay

So Marmol was signalling to his players to hit Yelich and Contreras yesterday? Did Contreras or Yelich get hit yesterday?

I've seen him play quite a few games in person this season, I have yet to see him taunt the opposing team, or do anything even close to that level of douchery...

What do you mean? Did he like slam it down or something?

You should probably ask yourself why he'd do it tonight, then.

I don't have any reason not to believe Uribe that the Cardinals weren't innocent in this.

Should he have done what he did? No. But the Cards' organization does have a history of this sort of crap.

It's whatever for me really. So long as he backs up his antics on the field.

That’s not what Uribe said. He said he was signaling to our players that he was going to have his players throw at our hitters. Just because it didn’t happen doesn’t mean he wasn’t throwing the taunt out there or playing mind games.

Again, I’m not saying what Abner did was right but I’m flabbergasted that any Brewer fan thinks that the Cardinals were just sitting there quietly minding their own business this series and didn’t do a single thing that we might not have seen off camera that got Uribe a little more fired up than usual tonight.

You and @Brewcrew82 need to get the stories straight. You're telling me that this happened tonight during the inning Uribe was pitching. He's telling me this happened yesterday. Which is it?

I never said when it occurred at all. I wasn’t there.  Why don’t you just watch the actual Uribe postgame interview? Do you think we’re just conspiring to fabricate a story for Abner? I’m literally just going off of what Abner said in the interview.

I do find it hard to believe that Marmol was out there doing anything that was suggested.  If that is true, MLB should probably do a little investigating.

In the end, a player, even if provoked, made a mistake, embarrassed himself, and hopefully it all just goes away.

There is probably a chance he gets a fine from MLB, and if what he says is true, hopefully the Cards (Marmol) get a little something for their part of what happened too.

I think no matter what, we can all agree that celebrating like that is much worse than him deciding to hit someone with a 99 mph fastball.

What is this an interrogation? Watch the video yourself at 1:53....

I think we can all agree that neither was necessary, and tomorrow is another day...

It’s wild to me that you are ready to call someone a bald faced liar with zero proof, after he accused the least honorable team in sports of doing the exact kind of antics they are known for.

If it’s just incomprehensible wanton immaturity, why didn’t Abner randomly do this two weeks ago or a month ago? It’s peculiar that you refused to believe he may have been responding to something…..

That was quite a year. Also had the Rob Deer 9th inning game tying home run off Mark Clear  in that 13 game streak.

Greg Harris.

Mark Clear was a Brewer.

Uribe has a long track record of this type of stuff. He's been suspended multiple times across multiple levels for starting fights. He's an extremely emotional player. He's exaggerated things in the past like his explanation of the Siri situation two years ago. How is someone like that supposed to be a reliable source? It's supposed to be believable because the Cardinals did bad things 20+ years ago? La Russa has been gone for 15 years now. We don't need to pretend it's the same org it used to be.

And I'd also add if what he said was actually true, how is egging them on the right thing to do in that situation? Would that not make it way more likely for them to actually throw at a player tomorrow or in the future? Basically nothing he said makes much sense at all but people are trusting him because he wears a Brewers jersey and don't want to admit the Brewers did something bad or wrong.

Totally understandable to disagree or even disapprove of how he handled it! Just wild to believe he went out and completely contrived an entire fabrication that he is putting on record in front of his teammates!

The Cardinals have done this much more recently than over a decade ago!! See: Willson Contreras. They are accepted as the most bush league team in sports…..a Brewers fan of all people should know this.

By the way, Murphy is pissed. Can you imagine how apoplectic he would be if he found out Abner just went out and started a lie about the other team after this!?? That would make things so much worse for Abner. Watch the video. He seems somber and takes ownership. This would be a pretty insane lie that he just thought up in detail on the fly!

I love Murph, of course, but he's just wrong here. Old white guy policing the celebration of a young latin american player. If MLB wants to come down with a fine, whatever. Murph didn't need to give his full throated support, but he could have been a lot more diplomatic in a way that isn't scolding or embarrassing Uribe.

He's not though.  That's the thing.

Uribe acted like a clown and his manager rightfully called him on his b.s.
