Alexander Frias is just dominating ACL pitching. 4-4 so far with another PA or two yet in this game.

He needs to be challenged.

Continuing their playoff quest, AA Biloxi host Columbus for a doubleheader, with terrific RHP Jaron DeBerry (26 IP, 4 R, 24 Ks last 4 games) starting Game 1.

SS Jesus Made (.776 OPS in 269 PAS with 21 PAs) returns after exiting Wednesday’s game early. 2B Dylan O’Rae (.820 OPS in 237 PAs with 33 SBs) makes his first start in 9 days.

Frias 6-6 with 2 doubles and a SB. 6 RBI but no run scored. I don't know if they do MiLB scorigamis, but that might be one.

Frias is now 6-for-6 with 6 RBIs, 2 doubles and a stolen base.

The only thing holding up his promotion to Wilson is probably the ACL squad’s lack of depth -> just 3 bench position players, one of which (Fenelon) is probably not available after exiting Tuesday’s game early.

I can’t remember any other time when I could look at an ACL line score, see that the Brewers had scored anything at all, just confidently assume that one particular guy was in the middle of it, and always be right.

Yes, he has a .517 BABIP and hits too many grounders. Yes, he has struck out a few more times than he’s walked, which for a Brewers prospect these days is actually notable. Yes, he has been a poor percentage base stealer. I have no idea how his defense is. But I would think he could work on those things perfectly well in a league where he can’t just carry all the opposing pitchers around in his gym bag and trade them for snacks.

The Low-A Warbirds aim for a 3-1 home series lead over Charleston, behind 19-year old RHP Tyler Renz (3.66 ERA, 1.35 WHIP, 8.0 K/9 in 51.2 IP). RF Jose Anderson has homered in 7 of his last 11 games.

After a largely super first half, Nashville have dropped 5 of 6 games and need 3 straight wins in Memphis to tie them in the standings. RHP Garrett Stallings (3.59 ERA, 1.31 WHIP, 8.5 K/9 in 52.2 IP) gets tonight’s must-win start. 1B Luke Adams has a 20-game AAA on-base streak.

I haven't been watching much of Biloxi mostly becuase I think the production quality in the Southern League is pretty horrible compared to the rest of MiLB. I have the game on today and it's nearly unwatchable with how poorly synced the camera angles and audio are. I know the Brewers don't own the Shuckers like they do Wilson but I wish they would do something to get the production quality at a suitable level.

The High-A Timber Rattlers look to start their 2nd Half on a winning note, which would also even this week’s series at Quad Cities at 2 games apiece. RHP Jason Woodward (5.33 ERA, 1.70 WHIP, 10.0 K/9 in 27 IP) makes his 8th start (12th appearance). RF Josiah Ragsdale has a 24-game on-base streak.

Rickey Moneys started slow, but his numbers are creeping up.

And same for Antunez in the ACL.

BIloxi with a very good night hitting in the early innings. DeBerry not quite his usual self with 8 hits allowed in 4 IP, but only 2 ER and 2K.

Somebody needs to remind the Columbus pitchers how a shutdown inning after your team scores is supposed to work.

Can you send a guy from Rookie ball straight to High A. That's kind of a joke but not really. He needs a promotion like a week ago.

The Shuckers can sweep today’s home doubleheader against Columbus with a win tonight. RHP Yorman Galindez makes his 4th AA start (3 IP, 7 R, 2 Ks in last outing). C Darrien Miller (.951 OPS in 157 PAs) returns to the lineup for his first action in 9 days.

I feel like Bitonti's batting stance is very different than I remember. I thought I was watching Adamczewski for a second.

How much $$ to throw a roof over Keesler Federal Park in Biloxi?

Good grief.

The constant threat of storms every day in the summer is annoying. Can we just send our top prospects right from Appleton to Nashville and skip over this Southern League crap?
