Monday's Birthdays:

RHP Griffin Tobias turns 21 today. The 2024 9th round pick out of an Indiana high school finished the 2025 season with Carolina, having been placed on the Mudcat injured list as August ended. He attempted to rehab his elbow without surgery and starting this past May 21st, made three Arizona Complex League rehab appearances. Unfortunately, he underwent Tommy John surgery just recently. Wishing him the best in his rehab journey.

Catcher Kevin Garcia of the Warbirds is 19 years old as of today. Despite that youthful age, the native of Venezuela is already in his third year in the system and is seeing action for the 2nd year in the Carolina League.

Another day of production for the *SOMEHOW not a DSL All-Star Leanders Matos. My goodness.  Alex Jensen is a writer I really respect. He had this to say about the young man recently. Some very very high praise.

My best guess is the sunglasses indicates he just signed an endorsement contract with Ray Ban (based on the style of sunglasses on the emoji, clearly NOT Oakleys).

The bulging eyes make me think of Ryan Braun and his prominent sclera, so perhaps he is resurrecting his Affliction offshoot Remetee clothing line with Andrew as the new face?

Its a bit early but Matos is trending towards a candidate to skip rookie ball and start 2027 in Wilson.
