Some may call me stubborn or narrow minded … but as much as I love this team, this is not the year to squander multiple top prospects & go all in to try to win the World Series. We have too many needs.

Instead, Ihope we “strike out” on trading for any big names & choose to see what we can do with this current roster & possibly a few m8nor additions that cost very little. Our future is bright if we can be patient. I believe three or four of our prospects will become great players if we hold on to them.

Agreed. Feels like we're a decent starter, a LH reliever (sad Zerpa noises), and a power bat or two from having a serious chance to beat the Dodgers this year. That would take the entire farm system.

There’s no glaring weakness on either side that needs to be addressed, as is usually the case with a team 25+ games over .500. But they still go cold at times and obviously could go cold in the NLCS like they did last year and go out like a fart in the wind. 

They could add a big bat and I’d have no issue. But whoever it is, they’re going to bat  1/9th of the time at most and have a very small sample size of playoff at-bats and not going to win or lose a playoff series on their own. 

For the last six weeks it has been below average if you go by runs scored.

You might be right....but I have a feeling they are going to try and bring in a difference maker. Games like today are frustrating and you wonder how this team will compete for a WS with its glaring flaws which are on full display. 

I don't have the numbers in front of me but there always seems to be a series against a bottom feeder that The Brewers just don't show up. Today looks like that to me.

Let’s be honest, he had a nice 1st half but we all knew he wasn’t that guy forever going forward. This was the most foreseeable regression on the roster.

Apparently, I’m not sentimental. I have no intention of watching the former Brewers play after this loss. I’m only interested in winning & watching games that count in this year’s standings.

The brewers haven’t been on the baseball gods radar but they are about to notice.   
 

you can’t keep going behind every game and expect to win a decent clip.

I don’t think that is right,

By my count when giving up exactly 5 runs the Brewers are 3-7. 

When giving up 5 or more they are 8-24.
