Another guy major league pitchers aren't afraid of and will challenge because he doesn't have the power to really punish mistakes.

I have no problem with people being high on Harrison because when he’s good, you can see the upside. He certainly has ability.

But right now, his inconsistencies limit him to a middle of the rotation guy until he can be more consistent on the road. People are calling a 3.95 career FIP/3.88 xFIP pitcher a 1/2 based on less than a dozen great starts. 

There were literally people in the Skubal discussion earlier this season saying Skubal would slot behind Harrison in the playoff rotation. That’s absurd, 

You don’t become a 1/2 in this league off a small handful of starts and we are anointing these guys too early.

He's had three really bad starts this season out of 19 and one of those was in the most hitter friendly park in MLB by a country mile. This is his 7th start since Vegas. Two have been bad and one he left injured.

Okay.

Regardless, he still hasn’t done enough in this league to call a 1 or even a 2 and given his performance and recent injury and velocity concerns not someone that I would blame anyone for feeling hesitant about handing the ball for a Game 2 playoff game.

We miss the defense of Pratt and Ortiz but in his limited innings I’ve never once watched Vaughn play 3rd this season and thought “he can’t play 3rd”.

Certainly no less than Bae can play 2nd.

The Ty France single before the Merrill go ahead HR last night was a play that Ortiz and Harrison probably make. Vaughn didn't even come close to it. If the ball is hit right at him he's fine but he has no range.

Yeah, but that isn’t unique to 3rd. His range sucks at 1st, too. He’s just not a good defender, but he can make the throws to 1st.

Wheels are falling off and seems imminent the Brewers lead will disappear before the next home stand. Would have been okay with a win Monday but losing streak incoming. Will see how they respond with the adversity.

The long ball has been killing the Crew.  Their top 3 pitchers (Miz - Harrison - Henderson) have now allowed 7 bombs in less than 18 innings in their last collective starts. Right now just about everything is going wrong.

Although he remained in the contest, William Contreras hurt his left forearm when he was hit by a backswing in the ninth inning Tuesday against the Padres.

Austin Hays took a ridiculously wild swing against an eephus pitch from Gary Sánchez and drilled Contreras pretty good. Contreras was able to continue after a visit from the trainer, perhaps in part because his backup was doing the pitching at the time. If he doesn’t play Wednesday, this will probably be the reason.

Anyone know how Turang hurt his thumb?  I'm assuming it was batting, but if not...

Bruce Turang has a sprained thumb that could cause him to miss some time, manager Pat Murphy revealed.

Turang was able to finish the game against the Padres, but it looks like this could be an issue going forward. If so, the Brewers will need to place either he or Joey Ortiz, who is out with a neck issue, on the IL before Wednesday’s game. The Brewers don’t have any additional middle infielders on the 40-man, but they could add Jett Williams, who will need to be protected after the season anyway, or call on someone like Freddy Zamora as a stopgap. Signing Jorge Mateo might be another option.
