The Mariners look like a team that doesn't give a ****

Which is weird because they’re only 2 games back of the final wild card spot. Well… were…

Don't understand why pitchers have such a hard time throwing to 2nd.

It's certainly a little weird, considering they can pinpoint 95 MPH pitches, but there are a few reasons. Throwing to second, they have to spin around quickly, locate their target, and find their footing and proper release. They aren't going to practice that nearly as much as an infielder practices throwing, if at all. And when you think about it, infielders don't typically have to do a 180 like that.

In addition, going from repeatedly throwing off a mound to instantly off of the grass can sometimes be a difficult transition with no warmup throw. On top of that, they are often partially on the mound, not even on flat grass.

When I pitched, I tried to deliberately set myself (if I had time) when throwing to a base and then really whip it to make it feel as much like a pitch as possible.

Does anyone else remember when it was common for people to have. “13 run pools”. Everyone would put a certain amount of money in a pot and draw a team. Whoever had the team that scored 13 runs first would win the pot and then you’d do it all over again.

I think teams scoring 13 runs is more common now than it was in the 60s and 70s.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

Whenever we score gobs of runs like this, I always wish we could save some for later. But I'm just happy that we're scoring a ton.

Just curious, but did some of their team miss the plane?

It’s a blowout and there’s a position player pitching, but the two outfielders jogged to the Contreras double.  Looked like a Sunday softball league OF play.

So, we getting a Mariner position player in the 8th?  Well, I forgot to send this in time, and it is a position player, LOL!

LOL!!! Lara had the pitch before he went yard called a strike.  The problem was that it was helmet level.
