I will never understand this trade for May.  Like at all.    Having him really did not change our outlook in the playoffs.  It didn’t change our division or top two seed chances.  (To be honest it might even lower them if he continues to pitch like he has).  Romero might be useful but he still hasn’t thrown an inning and it’s been a month already

i get prospect hoarding can be a thing but if you wanted to get rid of those guys maybe package them in the offseason for someone useful.

it felt like a pure desperation move by the GM.   Like he felt he had to do something.    And with  division rival.    Ugh

May’s first two starts with Milwaukee were very good. Third start he was shelled and fourth start he was hit on the back after one pitch.

May is capable of being a reliable playoff starter. Less than Skubal but more than perhaps any other starter acquired at the deadline.

We’ve seen the highs and lows of Mayday. We need consistency from him. He knows that.

His first start was kind of lucky.    That’s why the third start was more concerning.   Then his next start the very first pitch he’s get lined almost off his forehead.     I don’t know about the guy.

like I said does or did he change our outlook at all when the change was made.    I don’t think so.   I think we are where we are now with or without him and he isn’t going to impact the playoffs imo

At worst, May is reliable depth. You might be right that Miz, Henderson and Harrison might be our top three starters in the playoffs. There is no guarantee that all three of the young arms remain healthy through September.

At best, he is the second most effective starter acquired at the deadline

Executive of the Year Award:

Milwaukee Brewers President of Baseball Operations and General Manager Matt Arnold made history by winning the Major League Baseball Executive of the Year Award in both 2024 and 2025, becoming the first two-time winner of the honor.

Little side note - I just took a look at May's first 4 games. Sanchez caught the first two. Contreras caught Game 3 and was catching Game 4.

If May shoves today I may be inclined to request May/Sanchez until it doesn't work.
