The NFL has a clear policy of a six game suspension for domestic violence.  Jacobs has already pleaded no contest to a charge that would seem to fall under the NFL's policy.  Why should this go on any longer?  I sure hope the NFL isn't thinking a suspension of >8 games after they gave an 8 game suspension to James Pearce (aggravated battery with a deadly weapon).

His charge is a misdemeanor and not labeled DV though and that is a problem for the league. That suspension would immediately be appealed and fought by the NFLPA. The league needs a DV conviction or the video or both. They are putting themselves in a very bad spot suspending him without either of those things.

They are buying time, as far as him getting a paid vacation, they can address that too. They can suspend him and credit the games missed, but he has to forfeit the salary. They can also suspend him, say 12 games, credit the 6, and he has to forfeit the salary + go unpaid for the others.

So he’s abused at least 4 women.  If those have come forward, I’m sure there’s probably more.  This is a terrible decision by the organization to put him on the field.

“Unfortunately, situations occur in life” as Matt LaFleur so eloquently put it.

It continues to be such a terrible look for the Packers, and a bad look for Matt LaFleur, to have stuck our neck out for this guy as long as we have.

Just release him and be done with it.

Amen to this.   Jacobs, MLF, BG, and Ed Policy need to go, immediately.

I’ve never been more embarrassed to be a lifelong Packers fan.  What a joke the organization has become

Packers sign new running back just in the nick of time to take them to the promise land.

The worst part about AI is the fake videos... Blah.   Dude ran past two 50 yd lines. After the second 50 yard marker, he ran 65 yards to the endzone (13 five yard markers).

"Rock, sometime, when the team is up against it, and the breaks are beating the boys, tell 'em to go out there with all they got and win just one for the Uecker. I don't know where I'll be then, Rock but I'll know about it; and I'll be happy."

The Packers signed Jarran Reed after his domestic violence suspension. Ahman Green is in their Hall of Fame despite taking a plea agreement on felony child abuse charges. Elsewhere, James Pearce is just returning after a suspension for aggravated battery, resisting arrest with violence and eluding police. Kareem Hunt is still floating around the NFL.  Once the sports talk outrage machine winds down, abuse and violence are met with a shrug by most NFL teams.

The Packers aren’t going anywhere (1 game up on Seattle and LA for 7th seed despite the smallest point differential among the 3) this season with or without Jacobs. Since his salary is fully guaranteed, they’ll probably just keep running him out there until the other shoe drops, as opposed to releasing him now and eating the remainder of his guarantee in a lost season.

JSOnline with a column pushing for Taylor or Barkley. I'm not sure why. Maybe one of them will get 2.4 YPC up from whatever we have now. They can't run block, it doesn't matter who is back there.

I tend to agree that the Packers aren't going anywhere, but part of me looks at that conference and can't figure out who is. I don't buy Minnesota. The South and East suck. Yes the Packers are in last, but the entire division feels like a toss-up on a given day.

They are the 7th seed at 5-3, but the 3 seed is 4-2-1. Minnesota is going to lose a bunch of games in the 2nd half. Their schedule has been a laugher to this point.

The 49ers look like the clear best NFC team. But it does feel like a year as good as any to have a fluke run. Super Bowl victory is not possible, the OL just sucks way too hard, but maybe winning one or two playoff games is.

If the Packers are to make any trade, I would argue for a cornerback that is controlled past this year.  And it wouldn't necessarily be for immediate help since Nixon and Cisse are both playing pretty well.  It would be getting the jump on next off-season when Nixon and Valentine are both free agents (and likely gone).  It would also protect against injury significantly, as the Packers have never seemed to have that much confidence in Valentine, and St-Juste has played a total of one defensive snap this year (Hadden has eight).

Obviously an offensive tackle would be nice, but I'm not seeing any names in those trade possibility articles that are out there.

The Ravens are listening to offers for Derrick Henry. Could be a much cheaper and shorter term alternative to JT if we are to move on from Jacobs.

Tony Pollard was another interesting RB option.  He is running behind the second worst OL in the NFL, so coming to us would be a downgrade... but he averages 4.5 YPA on the Titans.

Good eye, I didn't pick that up.
