I'm not a big pancakes supporter in terms of in-game managment but, I do agree with leaving Bobby Gas in.  Right now he is lining up as the third starter.  Why not let him get stressed and see what he's got.  Certinaly performed better than May or Harrison under pressure.

but it's not like every guy suddenly forgot every piece of advice he gave

Bauers will get time in right. I think Murphy will “trust” Sal more in the playoffs.

Maybe, but I expect Lara to be starting in right most days or at least half.

I mean the entire offense has struggled today and did so in the 8th. They have 3 hits and 11 strikeouts.

Murphy probably wanted Ashby in to face Henderson. Otherwise would have been flipped

So with Ashby is either a clean or nearly clean inning, OR it's bases loaded with one out.

Pretty much. Not much in between.

Can’t argue with that logic especially with Megill being a little shakier lately and Ashby got the guy he was in there for.

Rogers throws an 8 inning 3 hitter and he's on the hook for the loss.

Sometimes baseball's unjust.

The Ortiz “sun ball triple” may be the only runner to score today

I'm guessing there's something slightly amiss with Megill.

What a game.

Was that the best use of challenges for the entire year?  Just in time for it to  become another weapon in the post season.

7 chances for the franchise record.  3-4 for 100 wins.  Closing in on the bye.

So long as he recovers well, it looks like starter #3 is pretty well settled.

A lot of the big bats on the bench were all LH as well. Ashby kind of forced them to stick with Hinds in that spot
