Plenty of obstructed view available!

My group of four can take turns sitting on each other's shoulders and the top person gets to see the game unobstructed.

I'm currently staring at the tickets for WS game 7. I know if that game happens it will absolutely kill me not to be there but $3400 for a pair+travel is rough. I'm going to wait, the one nice thing about pricing to the secondary market is that it's not going to be any more expensive to wait.

Tickets were about $1k before Game 1 of the NLCS. They are now a solid $1,400, but mostly $1,700+.

I don’t know what Game 7 costs, but if we somehow got there, I’m betting the prices would be worse come then.

After all these years, NLDS and NLCS has been easy for people to skip and sell. I don’t know how much that will happen for a World Series game.

For that kind of obstructed view I would rather pay more on the secondary market and actually be able to see.

I’ve been saying for years that if the Brewers ever make it to another World Series, I would go to a game regardless of price. The current situation might force me to reconsider that commitment.

Our 12 pack seats are in section 424 row one. My target for tickets is something in that area. I don’t need to be in the lowest levels, but I need to be close enough to the home plate area for my old eyes to see the game  I expected about $1000 per seat, not significantly more than that for worse seats.

In my case. It isn’t a matter of what I can afford but only what I am willing to pay for an experience. And I resent someone telling me that I’m not enough of a fan if I decide that I’d rather spend $1500 on something else. Also, I was fortunate enough to attend game two of the NLDS so I got a pretty good taste of the playoff atmosphere along with one of the most amazing endings to a sporting event that I have ever attended. I might decide that that satisfies my appetite and that if the Brewers do win the World Series, I’ll go to the parade or whatever other community celebration.

It would also not literally be a “once in a lifetime“ experience for me because I attended all six playoff games in 1982. That year I bought four strips for the entire playoff run and took some relatives and friends to the games as Christmas gifts. I don’t remember the exact price then but it couldn’t have been too high because I did not have that much money in those days. Maybe I could dig up those ticket stubs to see what they cost. The seats were in the upper deck and pretty far down the right field line. I would not see the game that well from seats like that in my old age.

In the meantime, I will be watching the secondary market and would probably just get a single ticket because my adult daughters might not care enough to have me spend that kind of money for them. They would rather spend it toward a trip to Europe or something like that because I usually cover expenses for those trips

We’ll see how it plays out. If the Brewers do end up losing to the Dodgers, maybe I’ll just look at it as saving me money as a slight hedge against  what would be a huge disappointment.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

I don't agree with this at all. I think if you want game 7 tix, grab them now. Not much of a chance they get cheaper closer to game time. I guess if someone threw some up there with a $10,000 price tag, that might come down, but I wouldn't count on it.

Now excuse me, I have to check how much room my HELOC has.

Received an e-mail this morning for a presale with a personalized code.  Any one else receive this?

Will be out of town for work the entire first week of the series, can only go to Game 6 or 7.

I received the email.   Got game 6 seats in section 414 for $1,120 plus fees.    Game 7 seats in section 420 for $1,450 plus fees.

I saw an archived TV6 news clip on Instagram of Brewers fans buying obstructed view seats for the 82 World Series for $18, which is $63 in today dollars.

I saw that too. One thing to keep in mind is that the old stadium had a capacity of about 55,000 so there were a lot of lousy seats available.

Sub $1k for Dodgers WS tickets in the OF or infield upper deck. $1,300 can get you on the field level towards the OF.

Will be interesting someday when the Brewers aren’t good anymore. Every year of success the franchise keeps sucking the fans dry more and more each year.

Tickets were a lot more affordable in those days. There’s a lot more than just inflation at work.

Fine I pulled the trigger for game 7. Pretty sure I cursed us because my cheapskate Brewers fan grandpa would be skewering me over the coals for spending his inheritance money on $1700 baseball tickets. That money should be spent at Menards!

My greatest generation mother will be rolling over in her grave if I pay these prices. When we went to Braves games in the 1950’s we got hot dogs for 20 cents. When the price was increased to 25 cents we brought sandwiches from home and didn’t have hot dogs anymore.

It’s that upbringing that makes me hesitate to buy some things that I can afford.

As an homage to gramps, I didn't buy the $100 parking. We can walk from National Ave.

I used this morning’s code to grab Game 6 WS tickets. That’s easily the most I’ve ever spent on tickets to a single sporting event, but if it gets to that point the stakes will be so high that I don’t think I’ll regret it.

I did a pros and cons when deciding between Games 1 and 6 (both on Friday’s). Game 1 would be guaranteed, would feature the Miz on the mound, and be the first World Series game in Miller Park/AmFam history. Game 6 on the other hand isn’t a guarantee but has a chance to be for a World Championship. I also justified it as if it doesn’t happen I’ll either be ecstatic anyway that the Brewers won the WS or happy to get my money back if they got beat before then.

I’m pondering the same thing about focusing on game one or game six.

Of course, my maternal grandmother would be telling me that just by thinking about this, we are guaranteeing that the Brewers will lose the series to the Dodgers.

I did Game 1 of the NLCS in 2018 using the logic of win or lose it would be an incredible experience. Game 6? Maybe you see a clinch, but you also may not see a WS game, they may be down 3-2, and you may watch the Brewers lose it all.

I just don’t find any negative to a Game 1.

Lots of people haunted by their ancestors in this thread.

I still remember my mother scolding me for spending 70 cents a gallon for gas because it was 67 cents down the street. I wouldn't even bring this up to her.

The famous story in our family is that my grandpa and grandma and the 4 kids were on a family vacation in northern WI (camping of course). They were running out of gas and grandpa pulls into a town that only had a full service gas station. The attendant comes up and my grandpa says "one gallon of gas please". As they pull out of the station the attendant goes "Have a nice trip!".

Our neighbor just the other day was talking about when she went to one of the games for $18. :)

There really isn't one, just that they might lose, the same as any other game. If I am limited to buying one game though, I want to try to make it a clinch game. That of course has the downside of never happening.

There isn’t a negative to a Game 1.

In 2018 when I was able to get tickets through the presale because of our 10 pack, I got tickets for Game 1 of the DS and Games 1 and 7 of the CS. I did the same thing in 2011.

But the tickets cost a fraction of what these WS tickets are. I was able to get the guaranteed game and the possibility of a deciding Game 7. I’m not willing to do the same thing when the tickets will be $4000 a game if one on my daughters wants to go.

At least this is one of the times that I’m glad my wife doesn’t like to go to sporting events anymore. She was there for all 6 games in 82.

If I had known they would do this with the WS, I probably would have kept my SSH. My last year was 2021. Switched to the Bucks in '22 for a season. I had nearly stopped going to all the games by then; youth soccer wiped out a lot of availability that mostly limited to weekends. I also live an hour away, which made the games like 8-hour ordeals with traffic. I lost a good bit of money selling regular season games during that time. I miss being SSH, the Brewers do a wonderful job, but it just wasn't practical.

If I lived in Milwaukee County I would likely still be one.
