$1100 per seat in the terrace box for me just now.

In years past, I've typically parked my butt at Dugout54 refreshing Stubhub and purchasing about 30 minutes before first pitch and hopping on the next shuttle. Last year I went to Dodgers game 2 section 129 for about $110.

No such luck this year. I kept refreshing well into first pitch for game 1 and nothing ever dropped below $250. Kept refreshing yesterday until about an hour before the game and the cheapest was $160 for SRO.

On a whim, I went to the Brewers website and they had SROs for 123 after fees. Took my 8 year old. A nice couple by third base/outfield that had a great view let him crash into their spot (pretty easy for a tiny kid) and he had a blast. I am glad I didn't take my 5 year old, he would have been miserable.

Looking doubtful we'll be able to afford WS (!?!?) tickets. However the jumbotron experience at Leff's for game 1 was pretty solid!

Guess I'll just be happy to sit at home and watch...  Really wanted to go to a playoff game, but I'm not paying those prices.  It's just crazy.

I went back to look at the additional World Series seats I bought for 2018.

Section 111 row 8, $400 each.

I had four left field loge bleachers tickets. $1,000 total including fees and parking.

I've got SRO for game 6. Hoping to make it a decent experience for my 12 year old, at least.

Unless we close it out before then, which would be alright too...

I know the team has no control but this is a kick to the dick. Especially compared to Tampa and Cleveland.

Are the tickets in Tampa or Cleveland cheaper?

Yeah I saw tickets in the $400-500 range

Might make sense for me to just road trip to see a road game if that's the case after the presales wrap up.

Hard pass on $1k to sit in the terrace. Lol.

I guess I'm not surprised. If I were still SSH, which I dropped a few years ago, it would be kind of annoying to know that other people just logged on the website mid October and got tickets for $250. It's a huge commitment to buy those strips, they're expensive as hell, you lose your shirt on the regular season, and you do that for years just on the chance that this might eventually happen despite feeling like it never would.

When I could take my family to a resort for 5 days at the same price as one 3-hour game we might lose, I just can't justify that though.

I think there's going to be another, more reasonable drop though. I could be wrong, but I don't think this is it.

In 2018, we bought four tickets behind the Brewers dugout for WS game one. Row 11 or so, I think.  Grand total:  $1600

Today, my cousin and I hemmed and hawed for twenty minutes after picking our jaws up off the floor.  Ultimately, we bit the bullet for 4 tickets in 421 row 6.

$1600

Each.

My 20 game season seats are in 421 row 2.  I paid the SSH strip price offered to us last month.  Each WS game was about $235 each.  My mother in law and sister in law will sit in those seats, as they do most of the season, since I’m in Arizona.

I totally understand those fans (here and otherwise) that are ticked off, shaking with anger, etc.  I never thought I would EVER do something like I did today (final bill after fees was $7400!)

My only rationale is that I am now guaranteed to be in the building for a game seven, which is an ultimate experience.  A once in a lifetime thing for me and my wife.

we will never do this again.

next season, and any further seasons, I’ll pay the SSH Strip gor my two tickets and fight my in-laws for those seats.  I’ll probably win 😆

or I’ll watch from home.  Or a bar or something.

Go Brewers!   But today left an INCREDIBLY sour taste in my mouth.  We were so excited about buying seats and it completely ruined that excitement and instead created the feeling that I might have to sell a kidney; they my niece might not be able to go to college now; that if there is no game seven that the team will take their sweet time refunding me while my credit card keeps charging interest every month.

today was supposed to be a fun day.

hopefully, it will all be worth it and I’ll remember it for the rest of my life as one of the best moments I could ever experience

It takes quite a while for interest to start accruing; statement has to close and then it doesn't accrue until it's past due on the next statement. I've never had that happen with these annoying ticket refunds. It's like 10 days.

If it does happen, I will pay whatever to get seats for game 2. I am a diehard that will prioritize this over a vacation or other crap that I don't need

I guess I’m surprised how much face value approaches secondary prices, but at least it will go to people actually wanting to go to the game.

Even when I was involved, I always found the SSH presales to be dumb. It’s loaded with terrace ticket (mostly) holders trying to get better seats and then they just sell their strip tickets.

Also my understanding from the past is the punishment for reselling these tickets resets every year. So no one has anything to lose by taking WS tickets just to resell. Even if punished, thousands will find a $500+ per ticket profit worth it.

If the price was less, most would have logged into an empty seat map because the resellers would have gobbled them all up before you loaded the webpage.

Long gone are the days of this small market team treating you well. Success ruined the experience in many ways.

This would suggest MLB set these prices based on secondary market projections. If someone is going to get market value, it may as well be them, not someone who bought 4 tickets for $1600 total to sell for 4x.

I'm kinda ambivalent on the whole thing. Hot ticket means big money, always has, always will. I'm unlikely to go, oh well, bigger tragedies aplenty. I'm not entitled to being in the stadium, I'm fine watching at home, going to bed after a couple Diet Cokes and waking up to rewatch the highlights...must be getting old.

Yeah. I considered those if we and Tampa make it till I saw the price. Its closer for me to fly to TPA from RDU than Madison and rent a car for a 2 hr drive

I am not sure you can equate diehard with how much you are willing to spend on a ticket. It is totally rational to love the Brewers and just have a line that you aren't going to pay $1600 to sit in a terrace because you don't view the in-person experience as that significant. A lot of diehards just don't like live events for any number of reasons. I guess I love the Packers, but I really wouldn't be interested in attending the Super Bowl at any price.

Thanks for sharing. I equate diehards to being in person for a perhaps once in a lifetime event over going to a resort or spending money on other things. You can spend your money how you see fit.

I'm not sure how those two things are related. So if some guy who works at Wendy's isn't willing to put $1600 on his Chase card to see the Brewers in the terrace level, he is not a diehard fan by this logic. Lol.

It's clear that you are offended by this because you said you aren't able or willing to spend on this. I just have a different perspective on it and that's alright. I hope the team makes it so our fans have these tough decisions to make. Go Brewers.
