I bought WS tix yesterday for gm 6. Prices were insane, but you only live once and who knows if this might ever happen again.

Looks pretty picked over already on the site today for the Wisconsin presale.

This reminds me of a huge concert with the on demand pricing.

The atmosphere for World Series games will probably be less electric than for the early rounds because so many tickets go to other teams, league and team sponsors, and then wealthy people who just want to be seen or say they were there.. it’s unlikely that anything will top the experience of the ending in game two against the Padres unless it is a series clinching moment.

Yeah...my cousin and uncle grabbed tix to game 6. They are WI sports fans but I wouldn't call them serious Brewers fans by any means. Cost isn't an issue to them. There's another Packers fan guy we know who goes to every Super Bowl who will surely be there as well.

Games 6-7 in Toronto looked like an insane atmosphere last year so that's what I've been targeting. But I'm taking the risk that it's another short series and both the NLCS and World Series go by without me seeing a single game.

On STH strips -- remember those folks are being rewarded for loyalty. When you are a fan of a playoff team, every year you get hit with both a renewal and a playoff strip bill in August. It sits so long that you have to pay off the credit card bill and you don't get refunded for unused games until sometime in November. I don't know how the Brewers handle it but I've always owed 50% down which is a lot of money for games that never get played. Half the point of being a STH is holding out for the one year where you don't have to worry about tickets to these insanely high demand games.

My buddy pulled the trigger on potential WS Game 5 tickets in Cleveland this morning after striking out in the presale. I feel like if the Brewers and Guardians both win today he won’t be the only one making that leap. Those tickets ended up being less than half the cost of comparable tickets for a home game.

We were at all the post season games in 1982. I also saw Nyger Morgans' walkoff to advance in 2011, and some guy named Craig Counsell catch a pop fly off part of the roof structure in the opening round vs Philly in 2008. Those memories are going to have to hold me.

Not to mention that I have a wife who would probably be more excited about going if the Loco Beach Coconuts were in town.

I don't understand how that is possible, if MLB is setting the prices.

I keep seeing references to MLB setting the prices but I don’t understand how that works. The Brewers (or MLB?) are clearly using dynamic pricing. Yesterday the Brewers were selling tickets in 124 for $2,600 each. Today those exact same seats were now $3,852.

Regarding the Cleveland tickets he got them through SeatGeek which is the official ticket reseller of MLB and basically the next best thing to getting tickets from an MLB ticket office.

Yeah it’s all demand-based pricing. The presales and SeatGeek are all a big part of that. I’m sure there will be a TikTok from someone who reverse engineered it any day now.

The way I justified it was that I would be paying the same price either way so better that it goes to the Brewers/MLB than to some rando scalper.

MLB sets the minimum, Greed sets the maximum.

Since the thread is getting long -- for those of you that are Season Seat Holders (SSH), how much did you get the tickets for?  We were going to get the 20-game pack in early September, but didn't pull the trigger.  We have a sizable family, so two season tickets would certainly get used.  We simply didn't get it.

SSH Postseason pricing can be found here:

I've kept a 20-game pack since 2006 for precisely this reason - my Field Bleachers tickets are $240/each for the WS.

On Stub Hub prices have gone up a few hundred dollars since this morning for game 1 for seats in the areas I’m looking at.

I’m still fussing about whether I want to spend  6 or $7000 for tickets for me and my two daughters to go to a baseball game. There seems to be a little less demand for game six because those prices have been holding more steady.

Maybe I’ll decide to spring for this, but I’m going to keep my eye on these sites to see if maybe prices come down a little once the initial hysteria wears off. If they don’t, I’m not going to regret not pulling the trigger sooner at the current prices.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

Thanks for this information!   I’ve thought about getting a 20 game pack, but needed the playoff costs to determine if it’s worth it.
