Doug Davis (9-9, 4.15 ERA, 1.33 WHIP) goes for win #10 for about the 37th time... against (pick a guy.. any guy....) Valdez! (1-1, 4.50 ERA, 1.55 WHIP in limited work)

 

I'm hoping for the same lineup for the third game in a row.. and somebody get Bill Hall some pizza and tacos.

 

And I wouldn't mind seeing some more of this:

Valdez is just the type of washed up, 5.00+ ERA pitcher that would shut us down. It is good to see someone with a respecatable ERA against us, hopefully we can get 5-6 runs today.

Well dare I say, that prior to yesterday's game I said I though with a win in a game you'd most likely expect them to lose, it could be a lynch pin game for the rest of the year. Well, the way that one went last night, I am starting to think that could be that case. The Marlins gift wrapped that thing for the Brewers. Doesn't mean much if they go out and lay an egg today though. Too many times this season they have put themselves in position to turn a corner and have fallen flat on their faces. Will that trend ever change? If it is ever going to, today would appear to be the time. Six on a row, 10 of 12, something like that is what they need right now to continue to play meaningful games throughout September (barring a losing streak to match). They're playing well, they're at home, they have a favorable pitching match-up, all the signs point to this being the third game in that needed streak. The question is,do they have the stones to go out and get it done? They have crumbled in this position before.

 

You want that 10th win Doug? Go out and get it.

I think Moeller pitched the 8th last night. I don't think they will turn around and start him today. Here's to .500......again.

Yeah, Moehler pitched last night and it was stated at the time that Valdes will be the starter today. They wouldn't turn around and put Moehler in there today after pitching an inning last night, would they?

I'd love to see Prince inserted into the lineup today for a struggling Overbay. I can't wait for next year. A Lee-Fielder combo has so much potential.

Lets say we played nothing but two game series all year. You win 2 out of 3 in each, you finish with a 108-54 record. I'd take that and no sweeps.

 

Are you trying to say that sweeps are required for success or that, based on our situation, sweeps are necessary to improve? If we go 24-12 (2 out of every 3) the rest of the year and yet sweep nobody I for one will be quite happy.
