i thought it was a 3 parter cause it the opening it said it was a trilogy. I won't ruin the it with the name of the trilogy if some haven't seen it yet.

IIRC, the show open actually referred to the story as a trilogy; the promo, however, said that it would conclude next week.

This weeks' show was all over the map in terms of content.

I did like the 'imagination' v. 'special effects' discussion with Michael Bay. (Did anyone else notice that the truck Cartman got in at the end looked awfully similar to a certain Transformer that we had seen in imagination land?) And they brought back the Mel Gibson character.

I also have my doubts that the contract / bet storyline is actually going to pay off....nor do I really want it to.

 

Not one of my favorite episodes, but it's probably not fair to evaluate it before seeing the balance of the story.

this trilogy has great potential, i loved that they brought back manbearpig and the woodland critters. I still don't know exactly what point they are going to make though. I also liked when Kyle dies and cartman was crying because he was worried that he could not fulfill the bet, and everyone else was crying cause they thought Cartmen was only upset cause his friend died.

Last night was great again. Classic moment when Stan realizes that Kurt Russell (ha ha) and crew has run into his own imaginative creation. Great stuff.

 

Anyone think Kyle's momentary death is his way out of the contract with Cartman? Crude as it may be, that storyline has me rolling.

Best parts...

 

The animal that came out from imagination land attacking all of the humans. "It looks like some sort of pig mixed with a bear mixed with a man!" (It took me a bit to realize it was Al Gore's Manbearpig from a previous episode)

 

Jesus being in imagination land was classic.

The Woodland Critters showing up made the episode for me. Also, I have a feeling this is going to be the episode we see Darth Chef come back since they're saving it for something. IDK tho, but I am loving parts 1 and 2 and I cannot wait for next weeks.

IDK if it's illegal or something, but that is every episode from every season ever created. I usually always have an episode playing in the background ever since my buddy showed me that a couple weeks ago.

So what'd everyone think of the finale. It had its moments. I laughed. I especially liked the spoof on Al Gore crusading to save the world. I expected more, but it was entertaining.

I enjoyed the unexpected cameos in Imaginationland moreso than I did the "contract" and the actual plot.

 

It seemed very much like they came up with the idea, and created a story just to allow themselves to go with it.

Not a bad episode, but I just expect more of a payoff from a multi-part storyline.

That Al Gore stuff was in another episode a year or two ago. He was after this fictional manbearpig and no one would listen to him. I laugh every time I hear him say "manbearpig".

the one think that irked me was obviously that leprechaun meant more and it never got answered. Why was something imagined running around worrying about a terrorist attack. I enjoy the people they brought to imaginationland more than the actual story as homer said.

I think it was a satirical take on the perception that the threat of another terrorist attack is more imaginary than real. (and I am not taking sides either way, just saying what I thought the South Park guys were trying to say)

Alright, who caught the Guitar Hero episode tonight? It had moments early, but I thought it was pretty average until the ending. I never actually laughed out loud for an extended period of time during a TV show like I did at that moment. It was great.

Eh, I didn't laugh at all at the ending. My favorite character by far has become Randy Marsh. I laughed at everything he did this episode - when he threw that fit because Stan turned off "Heroine Hero".... YES

That was overkill I thought. I liked when he tried introducing real guitar playing to the boys and when he came out in his underwear to play GH at night.
