  1. I think you are reading more into people's post than they are actually saying. The bar is so low with McGehee, Kotsay and Counsell that it would be almost impossible for Green to be worse. He is an internal option so it would be very easy to bring him up without making any other moves. Other than cutting Kotsay or Counsell of course. The frustration is we continually trot out Kotsay and McGehee while we have a possible better option in AAA. People are upset that nothing is being done to improve the roster even though Green is right there. The bullpen wasn't really an issue(other than DPR misusing Loe) so if we traded a guy who could possibly help us for a mostly unneeded part, people are going to be upset.
  2. For a simple example of this, look at the principle of home field advantage. Why do players play better at home than they do on the road? It almost certainly has to do with the mental state of the players. That may have more to do with being used to the batting eye in CF or not being tired from traveling. It doesn't necessarily have much to do with a positive or negative mental state.
  3. TH can complain all he wants but the questions will not stop until Green is called up or we get some kind of definitive answer instead of just some wishy washy answer like Gamel didn't hit well so neither will Green or McGehee starts to hit more than a few singles.
  4. He has only had 2-3 really good seasons as a hitter including that season with the Brewers. It isn't like he was a good hitter and has been bad since 2009.
  5. You are working under the assumption Counsell will never hit again. Lopez isn't good. He is another middle infielder warm body. We have a slightly bigger pile of suck in the middle infield now. Hooray.
  6. We didn't give up anything so no big deal. Not really thrilled to have Lopez though. His defense is maybe average(and that's probably being generous) and his bat probably isn't very good anymore at this point. I didn't want him back after the 2009 season. He has done nothing since then. His 2009 looks like an outlier. If he makes the big club I will be disappointed.
  7. Our infield was already embarrassing with Weeks.
  8. Yeah well Weeks is tough. He is the guy who didn't come out of the game after being hit in the face with a pitch.
  9. Umm, yeah. I thought we were rid of that guy. Witrado I mean.
  10. I love that the Cards traded Rasmus out of the division. Fantastic.
  11. Everything about the flavor of Pilsner is subtle. It is almost like a brewer makes it to see if they can make a beer without flaws. Any flaw at all will show up in a Pilsner. IPA's on the other hand are relatively easy to make. Hell I have made a few good hoppy beers. I am pretty haphazard as a brewer. No temp control. Brew on a schedule.
  12. In Utero was the most anticipated record when it came out (PJ's Versus probably was a slight second) and didn't do as great commercially as Nevermind and I think that is what perhaps leads to the perception Nirvana (Cobain) wasn't as big before his death. I believe that Cobain wanted it that way. I am not sure if it is true but Cobain apparently tanked In Utero because he didn't want to be popular.
  13. Yeah hoppy beer really should be fresh. Hop flavor fades fast. Not sure why it matters with Pilsner.
  14. How long will Green stay down that using an option really matters? Will he realistically stay in the minors until 2013?
  15. Interesting. So you like music that pretty much no one else likes? Obviously I was mistaken since all music is popular with somebody.
  16. 13th in the A.L in runs and 12 in OBP. So because Oakland is having trouble getting good OBP teams they are scoring fewer runs. I think you just proved the opposing viewpoint.
  17. And if Green is the PTBNL I think that 30 innings of K-Rod is a better deal especially with the 8th inning meltdowns the Brewers have experienced this year. That would really suck since most of those meltdowns are directly the result of our manager being an idiot. So basically our manager acts like and idiot so we lose something of value.
  18. or just put them on ignore, don't read their posts and don't engage them in conversation.
  19. COBrewfan is dadofandrew, dadofandrew is COBrewfan. I feel like Ace Ventura.
  20. Yeah that is kind of it. The Brewers just got done with their toughest part of their second half schedule. Pittsburgh banked quite a few wins against an easier schedule. Everything being equal(which it isn't, the Brewers and Cards are better teams) Pittsburgh has a tougher schedule then either St. Louis or Milwaukee.
  21. Who? One of the more popular/critically acclaimed female musicians of the last 15 or so years. My musical interest don't usually line up with things that are critically acclaimed or popular.
  22. You forgot Kotsay. Carroll probably doesn't add much either.
